I was just curious if anyone has ever done like a custom rubber mat lining to the whole interior of their tacoma done this before. I am new to the forums and haven't seen any posts about this so I thought I'd start one! If you can supply information on where you bought the rubber flooring and all that'd be awesome as well. I know I can get weathertechs and what not but I'm pretty just trying line the whole entire flooring with rubber so its more of a permanent job. Thanks!:)

I have seen some have bedliner sprayed, something like Rhino liner that is a little more rubbery than Line X. It can't be taken out like a rubber mat, but there would be no need to take it out anyway.

That sounds ideal but I'd definitely have something that could be removed eventually. I was thinking more along the lines of like purchasing a roll of rubber flooring and removing the seats and all and lining the floor with it. Was just curious if anyone had done this beforehand to get an idea of how to do it. Thanks for the idea though! :)

pretty sure you can order the new tacomas with the vinyl flooring so you could try buy that and swap it in. just save your old carpet and when you sell you can swap it back.

Yeah I've been doing some research and can't really find the rubbery material that I'd use to do it without throwing down a 100-200 dollars so ill most likely just go with weathertechs or something of that sorts. Thanks for the suggestions thought!

I have bad news - Weathertechs are like $100 -$200 also. Totally worth it though if you're in and out of mud or slush/snow all the time, definitely the next best thing to all-vinyl flooring.

to bad they back it with foam padding though. once wet the moisture gets trapped and starts to corrode. Many FJ's will soon have rotted floor pans due to this. Ive seen so many swamped over the past 7 years.....

I'd say best looking, not best performing. I had them. After one winter I sold them. Total junk IMO. Who the hell puts holes in floor mats so the melted snow and slush can flow right through and start rusting out your floor pan?

Now I have Husky liners and they are 100X better at keeping my carpets dry. I could pour a gallon of water on them and they would hold it all.

I was kind of wondering about those myself, but I didn't get enough melted snow built up to overtop them during the last 2 or 3 snowfalls and I was in and out quite a bit. Those holes are definitely the biggest weak spot but I like how they stay put. My last set of "all weather" aftermarket mats slid all over the place and always got caught on my clutch. Granted, the weathertechs would probably stay put just fine without those mounting holes because they're form fitted to the floorboards and I don't have a clutch they could catch on anymore. :(

I still hate carpeting in vehicles though - who the hell ever thought that was a good idea?

Why would the foam pad protected by the vinyl flooring get wet, outside of flooding the cab?
