How would you spend $500?

I just picked up a TRD sport double cab and I saved $1,000 to use. I have kids so I need seat covers and floor mats to start and that leaves just about $500. I don't do any hardcore four wheeling, but I do spend a few days a week on the beach for some fishing. I already have rod racks so I don't need that and I'm not just looking for something like an air intake. Should I save the cash and wait to upgrade a something else at a later date or am I overlooking an item that should be added to the truck at this time.

    Thanks

I'd replace the mudflaps with shorter ones (upfront, Husky). Or just remove the stock ones completely.
You could also go with thicker floor liners to protect against the beach sand.

Any need for stronger headlights, possible extra outside lightning for grabbing gear at night?

If you don't already have it, I would recommend the Tacoma bed mat.

Should only be about a $100 for an OEM mat from Toyota, which still leaves you some extra cash. It's the best value accessory out there in my opinion, stops everything from sliding around and protects your bed from scratches.

+1 on the husky front mud flaps. I have them on and they are clean looking and much shorter than the OEM flaps, all of the mounting holes matched up perfectly for me. No more scraping over speed bumps and pot holes.

This is why the forum is awesome.

I'll check out the husky flaps, I don't much care for the stock OEM

I was considering the bed liner and you just made up my mind

I've been fishing the beach for years so I already have the compressor etc, but great suggestion none the less.

    Anything else?

Wet Okole seat covers. They can take a beating. My GFs little boy peed in my back seat while he was asleep and they cleaned up no problem. No stains, no smell and it didn't go through to the fabric.

    Weathertech floor liners.

Dee Zee bed mat. They're about half the cost of a OEM mat.

Extra D-loops in the bed to hold your gear.

Maybe a roll up Access cover to keep your gear dryish.

    My obvious answer is.....BED BRACKETS!!!

(and probably a cargo basket, or bike rack, to mount to them).

Get the seat covers and save a few more dollars then upgrade the stock tires (if not done already)

The Okoles and Weathertechs because you said you need them, and they're the best. Sliders for the little ones to use as steps and to keep your doors from being dinged. And the headlights because you want to see where you're going!
