Go with the hitch mount... Thule T2 is the way to go.

Really don't want to deal with it back there and not being able to access my bed without completely unloading and and removing it.

Nice! Racing the Greensfelder Challlenge this morning for the 4th year in a row. Gotta protect my last place spot.

If I remember right it can fold down with bikes in place, giving you decent access to the bed.

The T2 does. It doesn't completely get out of your way, but you can open the tailgate and work around it. With all his other stuff back there, though, not sure how well it would work.

Also, the tray hitch racks ride pretty low. If you plan on taking the bikes with you when you do a 4WD trail run, probably not your best option. I would go with roof.

roof rack wouldn't be much better where there are low hanging trees. but i dont think the tiregate would swing out with bikes on the rack even with it folded down. i think that works better with suvs that swing up.

My tire gate won't open up even if it moves down out of the way. Not worried too much about clearance. Just need a roof top tray recommendation if someone is using a set.

I have used the Yakima HighRoller or FrontLoader (it was a friend's), and I really liked it for the roof. It fit on my OEM cross bars with a RTT mounted on a bed rack that limited how far back the rack could be attached. I haven't used a fork mount one where you have to take the front wheel off. My bike has a through-axle so it requires an adapter which is a pain and expensive -- some guy has a patent on the Fork Up.

youve got a point there, like one for a jeep, probably depends on what size tire they can fit on but that may be a good option.

I've read about some rail system that mounts on a hard tonneau made by Yakima. I can't find it anywhere, you guys know anything about it?

I took my new Yeti SB75 Comp. for its inaugural ride yesterday. I really like my bike!! I went to Downieville, CA with a buddy. We descended 4,000' over the 15 mile ride. We had a blast and my bike handled everything as it should have.

Picked up a Cannondale Trail 4 for myself and Trail 6 for the Gf this past weekend. Got out on a fire road with it since the single tracks were off limits after the heavy rain.

Any recommendations on which clipless pedals to go with? I'm pretty sure I'm going to want those sooner than later.

    Bak flip fibermax cover
Yakima towers and load bars and Inno bike carriers which hold by tire only and no frame contact. Very pleased!
Oh and Yak Traks are mounted over bedrail covers.
