So for the second time i bought, attempted to install, and find that the damn thing doesn't fit. Appears that there is not a gibson cat back for a 2014 short bed. F it, ordered a trd kit, won't sound like much, but at least it will fit.

Why didn't it fit? Pics? You tried the 13' short bed? Same thing. My Gibson fits fine considering I have the 2013 DCLB. Only difference between the long bed and short bed is the front piping in front of the muffler. One is longer then the other.

IIRC the pipe has to be cut and rewelded for the short bed.

Correct, it needs to be cut but not rewelded unless you want to. You can just reuse the clamps that comes with it. I've driven 15k miles with it so far and hasn't leaked yet. It would hurt if you want to, for piece of mind.

The hanger near the exhaust tip was all wrong. Was pointed to the side and needs to be pointed to the back.

That's a super easy fix. either heat up the hanger with torch that Home Depot sells or have a muffler shop do it for cheaper. I had my dealership do it for free for me when I was getting my oil changed.

It was pointed that way because they haven't changed it since that is what the 05'-11' Tacomas are set that way. The 12'+ Tacomas are pointed to the back of the rear of the truck instead to the side.

Finally ended the exhaust saga. Installed the trd cat back and the volant cold air yesterday. Great results love the sound and extra power.
