I want to purchase some WeatherTech side window deflectors but I cant decide which tint to go with. My truck exterior is Magnetic Gray Metallic with what I assume is the standard tint on the side windows.
Any suggestions what would look better? The light or the dark tinted deflectors.

I have the light on front windows only on a 2013 Access Cab, Silver Mica, I think that they look great and being lighter lessens the absence of the rears, the rear windows are fixed why pay for the deflectors? Also have WeatherTech hood deflector bug shield which as I recall only comes in the dark......I never notice the tint difference. As dark as your truck is I doubt that you'll notice them no mater which color you choose. I think you may get a little more "see thru" visability with the lighter shade. I'm very happy, they install in about 30 seconds.

If you have tint on the driver and pass windows I would go with lighter ones, Cali law says no tint on front windows so lighter would draw less attention fom the law.

Dark tint looks better, I think. I am going to do mine so everything is as dark as the Leer shell and so looks uniform

The dark would be a tad more useful in full sun. BTW, go with the in channel ones vs. the exterior stick ons.

I will definitely go with the in-channel ones. Because I have an extended cab I will not be putting them on the back windows. That is my main concern-will they look odd if dark and only on the front windows?

I have the light; I believe it's the only DOT certified tint with the DOT 112 number so no LE hassles on extra tint on front windows. Dark is not. Besides, sometimes lighter is easier to see thru (traffic, etc) esp. after dusk.
In channel is all they sell btw.

Definitely Dark.... I have the in-channels on my '06 and now my '14... love them. Only had 1 blow out on my '06 in 6 years and Weathertech replaced it for free! They have great product support,

Just register your truck in a different state if you can. Cuts down on the hassle of being stopped by CA cops for tinting.

    Things I need to tow.
Grew up in CA and worked for DMV in past life. They get pretty testy if you have a CA drivers license and address but vehicles registered elsewhere. And don't think they won't find out. Usually its a neighbor that rats on you since they think you're getting away with something they can't. Your method may vary.
