I think hes 4x4 and doesnt have a dust cap, the sliding thing is made into the shaft not the end.

I have heard you can flip you drive shaft on a 4x4 and the noise will stop.
I have blocks made with an angle and offset center pins to get mine back in spec.

From what I've read on here, which is a decent amount because I researched this topic a lot before getting my lift, the extra height in the back is what causes the vibes. Toytec used to offer a 1.5' AAL with their lift kits now they only offer a 2 inch one or a 1.5 inch block. On my old truck I had a 2 inch block at first, got vibes, then went to a 1.5 inch AAL and had no more vibes. I actually preferred the ride quality with blocks but thats another conversation... maybe if you could find a smaller AAL or a 1.5 block it would help. That's kind of an expensive gamble to not know for sure though :notsure:

What did you do exactly? I am having the same problem as fasttoyo is with the grinding noise.

Had vibes though from 3 inch add a leaf and 3 inch blocks. The blocks I had made were tapered and had offset centerpins to move the axle forward about an inch. Got rid of vibes, still makes noise.

Ive heard on the 4x4 models you can flip the driveshaft over since it bolts in on both sides and that will make the grinding noise go away. It is also free, zip, zero, nilch, nada

I have no vibes, but just that grinding noise. I was planning on doing the driveshaft flip, but it seems to work for only a few thousand miles, or not at all. Thanks for getting back .

Also, BabyTaco, I finally installed my IronMan lift. It rides so much better with the lift kit than with the old worn out springs! :woot:

Regular blocks move the axle down and away from it. These just move it closer to where it would be with just the addaleaf and also helps with the angles.

I have about a 6 inch or so lift by the way.

Just got my ARE V-Series installed a few days ago. Looks way better than I thought it was going to. Looking to add a Surco Safari Basket to the factory-installed rails at some point.

Thanks man! Ya know...I didn't expect them to look anything like this. They are like a charcoal gray almost. I didn't know that.

I have to say, I didn't even intend for the truck to take shape like this. My wheels/tires were stolen a few months back so I ended up with these wheels over the stock steelies and then I had to get this cap for work stuff. Just randomly pieced together.

I think your truck looks awesome the way it is! I wish I had gotten a cap sooner - I had no idea how awesome it was.

    for those getting the grinding driveshaft after lift this is a well known issue with these trucks. flipping it will maybe temporarily resolve your issue but i promise it will eventually come back. been there myself. you can do a few things;
-live with it, but yes i know it's very annoying
-if under warranty your dealer should replace (mine did), but the problem will likely come back anyway
-grease the crap out of the slip yoke and this will keep it quiet for a while then repeat, pain in ass to take apart all the time though
-somebody on here at one time installed a grease zerk if i recall correctly...
-get a tom woods driveshaft and have a permanent fix
