Help Me Decide on a Tonneau Cover for my '14

Hey guys,

I want to get a tonneau cover for my truck before winter but there are so many options I dont know where to start. I am interested in a soft roll-up tonneau cover with velcros. I want to be able to keep full use of the bed rails and tie down cleats as well. If you have a cover that fits this description please let me know what one you have and what you like/dislike about it. Pics are great too. Thanks in advance.

 

The Access tonneau cover is just like you're describing. It's very nice and is a great price. You can find it on auto anything.com. I have one and love it. Not 100% water proof, but good enough for me.

Thanks for the replies, just a couple more questions. It looks like the access limited seems to be the most popular here. Is it true that you have to remove the bed rails to install this cover though? I know you put the rails back on after so you dont lose their function but I heard it is easy to strip the screws/bolts for the rails. For the truxedo truxport you simply clamp something onto the rails correct?

 

yes you keep your bed rails. installation wont take you long, theres not even anything to line up like on typical pickup trucks that use clamps...

you want the limited because the stuff they cheap out in the non-limited version is really annoying. theres no excuse for the cheesy S hooks tie down straps and double crank tensioners that are on the non-limited ones. i wish i bought the limited but i didnt know until it was too late.

 

Do you have an impact driver. Most drill kits come with one these days. It will zip the screws right out.

Literally 20-30 minutes to install.

i dont know that i would go unleashing an impact driver on the rail hardware. they strip easily, just use hand tools.

 

Mine has variable speeds, so I just use it on low to bust them loose. Worked for me.

Yea i ordered mine today for $511. I heard people talking on here about getting this cover for around $300 but i dont know how they managed that. I was originally looking at the BAK roll x which was going to be almost $1000 so I was prepared to pay a decent chunk of change for a cover. I got mine from realtruck.com and i got an 18" LED bedlight, vinyl cleaner/protector, and a few other accessories for "free".

 

I have the extang revolution. I absolutely love it. Very easy to open/close. No annoying snaps or velcro to mess with.
