So one day i sold my 2nd gen taco for about 15,500 because i found out on carfax the last owner had reset the milage too 64,000 when it really had 214,000 so i was stuck with just my beat 4x4 bronco for a dd, i found a guy on desert rangers who was looking for a trade or cash on his 5 lug i honestly dont know why because the truck is clean and built right, so i offered him cash for it and it was a deal.. threw down my bronco to subtract 1000, so i got this for a great price!
Got this with only 70k miles on it, has a few little things i gotta fix on it to start off with like the gas tank will leak if you fill it up all the way a few electrical things and so and so, but its easy an cheap.
    2.4 4 cyl crate motor
Auto 4 speed, wish it was manual
    Stock axle
    5 lug
    2" spacers in the rear
    Pacesetter headers
    specture cold air intake
    Glassworks fiberglass fenders and hood
    Hanneman bedsides
    front end fully caged
Custom long travel kit 5.5 over, predicted to have 16 in of travel strapped. Hasn't been cycled yet.
12 in dual rate king coil overs in the front with resi's
Rear has custom 9" shackles with deavers. With fox 10" stroke shocks 10" of travel. Shock mounts relocated and frame plated.
Optima yellow top battery relocated to the bed
    42" radius led bar
    new pioneer sound system
    New 32x12.5 bfg at
No ac or heat. i honestly dont care, ive owned 9 tacomas and never used the ac or heat once, i live in california and the weathers never bothered me

first off i have plans to gut the interior and build the cab cage first with either 1 3/4 or 1 1/2 dom tubing, put in some racing seats for the front probably recaros or summit. tint the windows limo in back and 50% for the sides and legal for the windshield, and hopefully build a nice looking dash in the process whatever feels right and works best for the interior.

future plans after that, i plan on finishing up the rear and building a bed cage to attatch to the cab cage i will be building, maybe powdercoat the rims if im feeling black or bronze, and maybe paint the body a different color but white is fine with me...

so we will see how this goes more pics to come... questions, comments, advice, judgements???

Cool truck man, I don't think I've seen anyone turn a 5 lug into a prerunner before. You may want to move this thread to the 1st gen build section:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-builds/

Any plans to upgrade brakes, cooling system, etc?

the brakes are already in pretty good shape so i may not look into that until they start to wear, but the radiator i believe is aftermarket, it looks to be aluminum and it does leak a little bit so i may have to look into that a little more
I have seen a few 5 lugs like mine in my area but they are owned by people who dont know a whole lot about fabrication and prerunners, i believe they just bought them already built

how do i put this in the 1st gen category?
