*I call it a 2011.5 because it was a late build 2011 that got a few 2012 changes. For example, it has white face gauges, the steering wheel controls use the 2012 logic to program to a new interface, UltraGauge custom gauges work with 2012+ codes/addresses, and it is exempt from the leaf spring recall because they added a clip halfway through 2011 production.

Looks good man. What did you do for seat heaters? Did you go with seat covers over stock seats or did you pull the stock seat covers off and put the heaters under and replace?

    I went with this kit:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-seats-hea...fits=Model:Tacoma&hash=item2326adbeb2&vxp=mtr

I chose that specifically because another member mentioned the switches fitting correctly in the blanks under the HVAC controls. So, yes, I pulled the factory covers off to install them. I actually didn't have to pull the back completely off because they don't go high enough up the seat to reach the rod.

That USB/AUX port is awesome! You got it from a Tundra? Was it pretty easy to install?

Great! Slightly stiffer than the stock TRD Sport suspension, but I don't think it's harsh in any way.

Got sick of my General leaf packs making noises. It was from dirt and grime getting between the leafs. So, I pulled them apart, took a wire wheel to them, and painted them with graphite-based spray paint. Did about three coats. The stuff is much slicker than normal paint, so my hope is the graphite will help as a lubricant and make it so dirt and grime will wash right out.

This spring I did some preventative maintenance. Changed spark plugs, all filters, and all fluids (coolant, diffs, t-case, oil, transmission fluid).

Diff and t-case oil looked almost new. Rear diff had a fine film of sludge on the magnet and one smaller shard (probably about half the size of a shelled sunflower seed). Coolant looked good, tough to tell the color from the new bottle. Plugs could have easily gone more than 30k, as always. Transmission fluid was my last change. Flushed it through the cooler and used about 12 qts total. The original vs the new looked like this:

    20160430_130357.jpg

I don't notice a difference in shifting, but it shifted well to begin with so I'm not sure it could have had an improvement.

    More Interior Mods

Brake Controller (Reese Brakeman IV) and level control dial for subwoofer:

    TRD Sport WeatherTech replacement decals:

Subwoofer well-hidden under the driver's seat:

I ended up making a bracket for my UltraGauge to move it slightly. Also added some LEDs to shine down on the cup holders at night:

    Few additions/changes:

Northstar 27F. I need to adjust the cable on the negative terminal and the engine bay is a mess from an incident in Maine, but you get the idea:

Moved my brake controller and Ultragauge:

Replaced the V6 badge with a 4WD one from an FJ40:

...and drove through this in Northern Maine. Twice. (had to go back) It's significantly deeper than it looks. The Clarkson law of speed and power got me through, though I didn't like how many bangs I heard from the frame crossmembers hitting the ground:

Truck looked like this when I was done. Boy, does pyrite mica hide mud!

I love it. Go for the MX if you have an automatic transmission. It will give you the AT Temp which is really nice for towing.

Also, calibrate your fuel economy over a few tanks and it will be dead on after that.

Yes, there is a guide you can get from Ultragauge. It basically just means you adjust your actual gallons used when you fill up. Mine was about 5% optimistic before I calibrated it.
