I'm reluctant to put any other kind of floor mats into my manual transmission Taco because of the potential accelerator or clutch interference issues.

I have a 2012 Sport Access cab that I am looking to put either Weathertechs or Husky liners into. Anyone have any consoling wisdom?

Do you have the 2 "hooks" on floor that hold them in place? I bought Huskys, punched a couple of holes in the mats, put the hook in the holes I punch and no issues.

I do have the hooks. So you removed the OEM mats?

Husky liners have nibs on the bottom to prevent sliding. The manufacturer recommends removing the original mats. I just put some in SWMBO's Honda. Time will tell how they work.

Weathertechs fit perfect and have holes that match the OEM hooks.

The Husky liners do not have holes, but are made to fit over and cover the oem hooks in the Honda. I don't know if that applies to the Toyota models. I would be concerned about leaks due to melting snow or whatever if it had holes for the hooks.

Besides, I could not find any discounts on Weathertechs, and the Huskies were less expensive. :)

I think the Weathertechs have to be trimmed for the clutch pedal so it doesn't hang up.

Husky liners do not need to be trimmed and fit fine.

I have Husky mats and have had them since I bought the truck almost 8 years ago. I have them on-top of my OEM mats. I haven't had any issues. NO holes and you don't need to use the hooks.

The reason....Husky floor mats go up behind the pedals. They have spikes underneath that help hold them in place. They never slip.... Because they go up behind the pedals, they won't cause interference even if they did slip.

I also have huskeys and they fit fine, no problem with the clutch.

^ This. I have trimmed the corner covering the false pedal on the left almost completely off. Now the only thing that hits it is my foot. I can take a picture later if you want. Granted my truck is a 2013 and the mats are out of my 2008, I think you would still have to trim the new mat.

I had to trim my weathertech liners in my 08 so the clutch pedal didn't get stuck down. It was a quick, easy fix. They have the holes for the hooks for the factory floor mats.

I installed the Weathertechs and love them.

You have to make a small trim where the clutch pedal comes down and catches the mat. It is literally a few inches and does not affect the water-catching features of the mat whatsoever.

Had them a few years now with no issues.

    I added a bolt once...
IMO...the floor mat issue is bullship....
My 06 had the mod done as we (Toyota tech and me) laughed at the issue...
Use common sense and install floor mats as necessary.

I swear the pussification of America is a dangerous path (not directed to you OP...)
