After seeing all the threads about tailgate theft y'all have made me paranoid about getting my tailgate stolen.

After installing my Pop n Lock PL5400 (which everyone seems to pan) I decided to add to its meager defense of my tailgate by adding a Jimmi Jammer:

It's dead simple. Love the advertising BTW...

Here is my hard-earned money on display! A bracket, a bolt, lock washer and Allen wrench. Oh boy! :)

Get a Torx T30 socket and a thin ratchet (I had to use a 3/8" breaker bar because of the tight clearance) and pull the passenger side tailgate bolt closest to the pivot.

Now place the bracket over the pivot and tighten the bolt with the lock washer and some red Loctite.

All done! No need to paint, you can't see it when the tailgate is closed anyway.

Yes, I know this isn't foolproof! (anticipating the comments already!) I am figuring that with this and the Pop n Lock it will slow down the casual thieves and juveniles.

I think it's more robust than the Wally World hose clamp method. Fingers crossed! :cookiemonster:

    looks good.

just remember the pop n lock will also keep your tail lights safer as well.

    Great writeup!

You can also use the Gatekeeper with the hose clamp together:
