Added K&N cool air intake. Tinted the front two windows. Plasti dipped the rims, emblems and the chrome ring around the grille. Added police Scanner. Added bug deflector on hood. Added leer flatbed cover.
Sometimes when I go up curbs I hear a "bottoming out" scraping noise. I think its my mud flaps. Is it bad to drive without them? 2012 TRD Sport

can be both good and bad
mine on my 06 tore off from bending back going down the freeway (fronts)
lots of other people report ripping them off going off road
they can and probably have damaged the paint where they mount

taking them off you can get rock chips and such

you can always trim them a couple of inches as many do or replace them with other mudflaps.

The first thing I did was take the paw paw flaps off.

Check your State Driving laws. Some states like Idaho will give citations for not having mud flaps on your rear tires.

It's not bad if you remove them to replace your fenders with baja fenders. ;)

It's illegal up here but it's one of those laws that only get enforced if you are pulled over by the vehicle inspection guys. Cops don't generally care, but they will tack it on to another fine if you are being stupid to them.

I got a ticket for not having mudflaps as I was approaching the Golden Gate bridge toll plaza. CHP officer must have been bored.

If you remove them please protect your lower panels (specifically in front of the fender) with clear film. Mine are speckled because of the flaps.

Thing is we drive mid size trucks. Not required to have flaps by law. Plus they look ugly as shitttt.

I tore the front ones off on my 2007. They were always catching on snow, or if I had to drive across a little shallow ditch or something they were catching.

Not sure yet what I'm going to do with the ones on my 2015. They seem much more flexible than the ones on my 2007, so maybe they'll be alright.

Thanks guys! Are there any kinds that may be shorter or more flexible I can put on my 2012?

    Many & varied
Husky makes a shorter set for $70-80. Most guys here simply modify them by cutting them down a bit. I think the general measurement is 4", give or take.
