I guess the 2nd Gen forum would be the best place to start this thread, but I'm REALLY curious about what the 3rd Gen Tacoma will be. Does ANYONE have ANY kind of ideas???

So I looked at these threads and they're old speculations about the 2012 model and then about the face lift it got. I was wondering about a 3rd gen, you know, like the difference between the 04-05. These ones are like the difference between the 00-01.

All I have to say is that I will be very disappointed if they make a hybrid and not introduce their amazing diesel into the US. Looks like I might just have to buy a BMW or Mercedes Bluetec. Darn...

There's only speculation threads about the 3rd gen because that's all the information we have. Trust me, if Toyota announced the 3rd gen, it would be plastered ALL OVER this site.

    1ST GEN FTMFW!

    :D

OP, everything about the 3rd gen is complete speculation. Took up to a few weeks before the 2012 facelift was being shipped to dealers that we even had hard pictures about it

I agree. I want a diesel tacoma so bad, that I'm willing to buy a dc 1st gen and convert it to a diesel (probably making it cost as much as a brand new one, or close to it).

I agree, but I also know that things get leaked. Just look at the iPhone 4, everyone knew about it before the keynote and that's huge deal (even if some lucky schmuck found it and sold it for 6 grand, it's still a big deal).

Now that we can almost guarantee won't happen. Small diesels and the USA seem to not get along very well.

Apple allowed that leak for publicity. Toyota has different company morals.
