Wheel Bearing Contest Entries: Vote for who you want to win!

OK, the entries are in for the free 4X4 wheel bearing assembly and some of them are very creative. I have my favorite, but I am not allowed to vote in my own contest. So here are the entries. Vote once, and get your votes in by 5pm Tuesday for our winner!

While driving the badlands of Cajon landing. I Bobby-leonidas stumbled across a shiny white two door steed in need of saving from the dirty old wicked people called the Pre Yoda Sellers.

They love snatching up used steeds and selling them at a crazy price. So I had to do what any regular person/god would do, I jumped onto two guards breaking one of their necks and beating the other one until he gave me the keys. After riding this steed and having a brief titanic moment I brought him back, negotiated his release and started our adventure of the desert game of thrones. We first had to practice and gain knowledge of these white sand walkers and dune warlocks, so my noble Yoda and I traveled to the world of Tacoma, where we found tons of information and people we needed to visit and conquer before our journey.
My noble steed found himself in a battle with the great and all knowing jeff-leesi a slayer of metal dragons who spit fire. My YodA battled all night fighting fire and metal until finally killing khaleesi, jeff-leesis sister. My Yoda earned his armor of steel on both his front and rear.
My Yoda and I were off to battle ORW at slavers lake. This was the most dangerous and hardest choice to make my Yoda would never be the same after this enemy. As we all know he kicked ass and took names and ended up leaving earning his springs for bouncing and shoes for shredding it up.
We were finally about to be on our way to conquer the Sand throne until Yoda started lying down and not sounding so good. I'm afraid he can't battle for his parts and this new resting place terminus is a bit strange, we need to get moving fast to continue our adventure for the battle of Sand thrones.

My truck is a daily driver/weekend warrior. He is my faithful companion, a 2008 2wd DCSB Pre-runner. He has great style, Black with a touch of chrome on the outside, grey on the inside. I’m working on getting him upgrades a grill mod, new billies & a light bar. There not on yet, it’s a surprise. I’m collecting all my goodies for him and I plan on installing them on a weekend when I have time.

I compare him to a mainstream athlete. He’s never 100% but he’s always ready. When I say let’s go off-roading and the wife and kids don’t want to go, who still goes and doesn’t complain, my truck! That’s who. He puts up with kids, He pulls my pop up trailer, He hauls my quads and every now and then he helps friends move. What an unselfish Tacoma he is.

I spend much time looking through the TW website and even though I don’t post much, this website has changed my truck and we have benefited. When he gets a little vibration I look it up on the website, Bam! There is the answer. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned from the gear heads here on TW. From adding D-rings to his bed to changing a full suspension system TW has the answers.

BamaToy1997 you asked for a short story and there it is. Well it’s not much of a story, I guess I could have written about how I rescued him from the deceitful dealership and gave him a home…….. Or about how he chirps every time I push a button on my remote ( he cares)……. Either way he’s my truck and he wants a free wheel bearing.

I deserve a new wheel hub assembly because I am abused and neglected by the owner who I have served faithfully since I was new, over 9 years ago. For the first several years things were great, he bought me cool parts, parked me in the garage and gave me regular bath's, I was always so pretty and clean! Now I have car seats stuffed in my back seat and these 2 horrible little people who jam french fries & spill milk all over my once prefect upholstery. He even let the crazy lady he calls "wife" drive me consistently for a few months! That was some scary shit because she is an terrible driver! As if all of that wasn't bad enough, a few years ago he bought another truck that he seems to love more than me. The other truck in his life is much older than I am and is ALWAYS broken while I push on, tirelessly pull his mistress on a trailer like a queen and she gets all the attention, quality time and money. I hope to be worthy of the very generous offer you have made Bamatoy, a new part to make me feel special again! But if not it's OK, you won't catch me pouting about it, I've accepted my life of misery and will keep pushing on mile after mile.

PS - If I don't win.....could you please PM Mr Yotarob-the-traitor and at least tell him to wash me?

Purchased from a slack jawed east coast communist with a mere 20k miles on the clock, my Taco will return to the earth as a pile of rust and plastic before another mortal signs the title. Saved from a life hauling bicycles and dainty reusable Traders Joes grocery bags, my Taco has been scratched, dented, rear ended, nose dived, AZ pin striped, overloaded and worked harder than a port city prostitute when the USS George H.W. Bush docks. My Taco has been down dirt roads, through rivers, and stuck...stuck lots and lots of times. But every single time, the Hi-Lift, the tow strap, and sound of metal being bent and gouged has freed my Taco. The drivetrain has moaned and complained from flat towing 3 Volkswagens, 1 landscaping trailer, and a gaggle of dirt bikes stacked on each other. My Taco has suffered from 1 bent tailgate from far to many 2x4's bouncing unstrapped, 2 shocks from the front end loaders over estimation of how full his bucket was, and from my own neglect and malicious disregard for rocks and ground clearance or maintance 3 sets of tires, 2 sets of wheels, 1 ball joint, 4 wheel studs, 1 sliding window, and 2 blown fuses. But through it all, rain or shine, my Taco starts every morning with the first turn of the key and has delivered water, jumper cables, and tow straps to many a foolish Heep owning friend in the desert. My Taco isnt Gucci. My Taco is a beast of burden. My Taco has worked land scaping, roofing, pizza delivery, search and rescue, shipping departments, autoparts runnering, moving van, and sleeping platform. And never, not even once have I not had faith when I look down at the dirt crusted Toyota emblem on the steering wheel, that my Taco wouldn't get me through the day.

Oh and my 2005 2.7L, 5spd, 4x4, Regular Cab Toyota Tacoma could use a wheel bearing.

In the beginning an engineer created a Tacoma, and the engineer saw that this was good. The lonely Tacoma wheeled through the hills and valleys of Eden till he sat idle due to boredom. The engineer than had an idea to create another Tacoma. So the engineer took a wheel bearing from the 1st gen tacoma and created a 2nd gen Tacoma. Now the Tacomas were partners and frolicked about till the 2nd gen Tacoma messed up. The 1st gen Tacoma was mad, as they had to leave Wheeling Eden. As time passed they drove their separate ways and the 1st gen had wished he could get his missing bearing back. The End

My truck had one owner from the moment it arrived at the dealership till I was handed the keys at 210k miles. In between those moments it was loved very much by someone. I had originally contacted the owner and got a couple responses but then I didn't hear from him. A couple months later I was contacted by the original owners son to see if I was still interested. The original owner was an older man and knew he was dying soon and put my truck up for sale to help his family. The original owner loved this truck. Garage kept everything done on time cleaned it inside and out every weekend and he did all the work himself. There's a list of things he replaced. Cvs. Cats. Spark plugs. Coil packs. Carrier bearing. Everything it needed it got. I met the owners son and bought it for asking price after hearing its story. He said it drove loudly over 50 mph. Which I didn't go over in the test drive. I drove it home to Charleston from Atlanta and I knew immediately when I got to 40mph that the wheel bearing was gone and needed to be replaced. My truck deserves a new bearing because it's the last thing it needed when the owner that loved it had passed and Im sure the past owner would have replaced it immediately but I haven't been able to yet.

I was once a beautiful, confident Japanese gal. After arriving in the States in 2014, the world was mine to conquer. As for him, when he first met me, it was love at first sight for him. The way he touched me, the way he looked at me, I knew I was the one for him. 4 days after taking me home, he took me out on our first big date. Without a word of complaint, I climbed over every rock, crushed every twigs, slid over every sand dunes that was in the way and arrived at the top of a hill where he showed me his kingdom.

In the evening of that very same day, my life was changed forever. 2 idiots fleeing the wrath of local law enforcers rode their American monster directly into our path. I sacrificed every part of my body to save him from all the impacts that followed. He escaped unscathed, but I was not so lucky:

The following week, I was pronounced permanently disabled by the State of Farm. I broke down in oil and cried for a re-evaluation, but nobody heard me, including him; who appeared to be ecstatic at the judgement. That was the last time that I saw him.

As I sit here in this asylum, waiting for every last remaining organs within me to be ripped out and sold to the highest bidder, he has moved on. Someone told me that he has found a new love; a taller white gal from Texas with a fancy Mexican last name and fancy shoes. I feel betrayed and killed once again.

I tried to gather all of my strength to crawl out of this hell and confront him, but I can't. One of my wheel bearings is severely crippled. Every night, I cried my tranny oil out while praying for a divine intervention from the World of Tacoma. If there is a Supreme Being in that world, may He have a spare wheel bearing on his birthday celebration that He can just bestow upon my sad lonely existence. I ask for this gift so I can crawl to him and to his new lover. With BamaToy1997 be my witness, I will rip out her fake nose and tear out the tramp stamp on her ass. Oh that white bitch.

Please, that wheel bearing, is all I ask of you!

My owner uses me and abuses me but I Always get him home. Even when it doesn't look good! Every adventure we go on something gets injured... Tie rods, rear diffs, drive shafts, wheels, and countless wheel bearings. I hate letting him down since he has to work on me all the time, and Since he's trying to save for a house and wedding I figured this would be one hell of a present to give him! In fact I drove him and his girlfriend to the proposal spot during a off road meet in Harlan Ky.

It was a cold blustery day in San Franciscoin 2005, but hey it was summer and I was assembled and ready to make a splash in the US of A. The country was getting itself back together after a horrible incident in 2001; the stock market was up, houses were selling faster than they could be built, and the auto loans… They were easy to get, as easy as a subprime mortgage. I was here, here to boost yota fan’s spirits. A new class truck with a 4.0 liter engine, a tranny made for aV-8 and a rock solid body that made women drip as I soaked up the open road. Not since the Toyota from Back to the Future in the 80s was there more envy heaped upon a midsize truck. Me personally I was a rarity, a Double Cab Long Bed TRD Sport 4x4 model. Only my single and access cab buddies would regularly have an ass like mine. You could pile camping gear and cooler upon cooler in my tail end and I would haul it and love it, man the 5 footer double cabs were jealous.

But I digress…Top of my class and ready to go. I learned that an older gentleman was to take me home. He walked up to me and signed the papers on my hood. I heard him tell the salesman that he was a peace officer from Novato; he wanted me to tow his fishing boat, and camper with the wife. I wanted a younger guy, and the ladies, but I was bound to man by the ink on line, my fate, my path was his to control. He hopped in and never broke the speed limit on the way home. Hell he even manually shifted my auto transmission doing the work for me. For seven years I towed for him,and watched my 2nd generation buddy’s mod out, cruising by with oversized tires and regeared locked rears. I would sit for months at a time neglected under a tarp growing mold in my weather stripping as he drove his patrol car home. The wife wouldn’t drive me but down to the storage unit to move her ever growing collection of crap, and every once in a while I would get to live it up in Santa Cruz helping their daughter move during college. Then it came, in February of 2012, my owner after 48,000 miles of borderline neglect took me into the dealership. I hoped for some mods, maybe bigger tires. Nope. He was trading me in; he wanted a Tundra for the new boat he bought for retirement. I gave him the best years a new up and coming 2nd gen. had to give and this is what I got in return an f’ing snug top, pioneer nav. system and mold issues. Thanks, Dick (that was his name, Dick. Fitting Eh.).

There I sat at the Toyota dealership wondering where I would land next. 2012, dammit I was getting a late start. I looked around and could already see the new “improvements” on my bodystyle. Who would want me now? Would I ever live up to my potential? Would I see MOAB, or anything other than a grated dirt road in Northern California that ended in paved camping spot? These questions raced through my on board computer.

A salesman leaned on my hood talking to a perspective buyer. The dude was from Chico, CA, I heard they have a great brewery there,and it’s a party town. I wasn’t about to get my hopes up, after all this lesbian couple had test driven me and it looked like I would be theirs. I’m not knocking their hygiene as I support all views/and life styles, but let’s just say I would be needing a lot of cab air freshener if things went in this direction. The salesman slapped his hand on my hood, laughed and shouted to the other salesman, “Shit, I think this kid wants this truck, we’re here latetonight he’s driving down”.

They washed and detailed the hell out of me, as I waited. The guy finally showed up driving a Geo Prizm. I had my doubts. He walked around me, we went for a test drive, and he got on it as we drove past the Oakland Coliseum. The salesman told him to relax, but dam I wanted more. We got back and he said he’d take me. He drove me home that weekend.

I wondered if he would mod me, I saw him surfing on Tacoma World for parts at the end of the first month I had a spacer lift, wheels and bigger tires. I was on my way! Over the next year I experienced pure ecstasy as he installed mod after mod. The SAWS, he even found me the sought after original All Pro Hybrid bumper I wanted since day one. We played like teenagers, getting me stuck in the mud and snow, camping with his dog and lady, 4x4ing, shooting we did it all together. I didn’t even mind when he chopped my cab mounts so he could stuff those tires in there.

Then came the big trip to Colorado.I was loaded up for camping to the extreme. I was the Grand Canyon, Zion, Moab, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Nevada. This guy took me everywhere a Tacoma should go. It felt good. Hell he even conceived his daughter in me on that trip with the wife. I think it was her birthday. That’s one thunder and lightning storm in MOAB I’ll never forget, he locked the dogs in my cab while he checked out my rear suspension capabilities. It turns out they do squeak and I may need an expo pack at some point. Way to go owner!

It happened on the way home from that trip, I faltered. First my in cab temperature gauge went, like so many before it. Then the humming, soft at first, and then it built, louder and louder. I saw the sign forReno, I knew I could make back. Come on Highway 80 be good to me. The humming in the cab lead to pulling over, where my owner would place his hand on my hub- it was as if he wanted me to be okay-it was warm, but I could make it and did. We got back and he jumped on TW, he knew what was up, he needed a BAMAToy1997 hub assembly, but there was no time. He just took a new job and needed me. Hundreds of dollars later, at a sub par shop I sat as they fixed me up with sub parparts, no OEM here. Dam you Saturday, and a work week on Monday that had to be met. I appreciate his efforts though.

Well here I sit today, from a bygone year, a time when we didn’t need TPMS sensors, or a navigation system. My left front now is up for repair. I have miles left to give. For all you Tacoma’s that came after show me the respect I’m due dammit. I beseech you. Without me you wouldn’t now about the fan blower problem, the shitty factory leaf spring issues, the problems with the cab mount rubbing. Someone had to do it, and I was the first of my kind, your “Daddy” so to speak. I’m an O.G. All that respect you get today started with us 2005s. I’m ICE Cube from Boyz in the Hood, not Are We There Yet. Let me have what I need to keep at it, don’t treat me like some recalled Prius,or heaven forbid a GMC. I don’t want to leave this guy stranded. He's really okay.

Once upon a time, I was a sexy young slut. 25,000 miles young when I first laid eyes on him. He came inside me and took me for a drive of my life. From there, we were inseparable. He took me on many trips, up and down the SoCal area. He even took me to and from his home, Oregon, a few times. We've gone on many off road trips and never did I leave him disappointed. Mud, rock, snow - I've conquered them all, afterall, anything for my man!

I've let him do many unforgiving things with other girls while inside of me. I even take him, his 'other biatch', and his 'Little Princess' to theme parks such as Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm while he leaves me sitting in the parking lot waiting - Rude! Even though this 'other biatch' is out of the picture now, I still cater to him and his 'Little Princess' in Oregon. He told me he's going to have to take it easy on me as I'm getting old and he needs me to take him to and from work and school. He hasn't taken me out on any off road adventures for 2 years now, doesn't help when I lost control on the icy road last year when I took him to the mountains so he can snowboard.

5 and a half years later of being with him, I am 104,000 miles young and the miles ain't dropping. I want to show this sexy stud that I can be a cougar with new steroid-injected wheel bearings. It'll make him deciding on my next shoe size a bit easier as they've got 40,000 miles on them and maybe he'll take me out to play in the mud.

I agree, I had fun writing the story too. Although the wife did slap me after she made me read it to her. Then she came back and told me to put a picture in of her and my daughter by the truck.

In general the stories were supposed to be from the truck's perspective. However some of the stories were really good, and since there was a short time period and not as many entries, I decided to include them all.

Boogeyman gets my vote . He has been very helpfull in the past with other members . Not saying the rest of you guys are by any means non existant as you guys all contribute .
I use to give away free True Cool transmission coolers for wedding socials . Doesnt sound like much but I also included free installation and a trans service to go along with the new cooler . Not bad for a $2 dollar ticket at a social . Cheap way of promoting the business
