I think Moose and a few others put it best, that it sure makes us appreciate the site and the culture that it has.
Me and another member where talking about it yesterday and we brought up some good points, 1: that we have made some really cool friends because of TW and 2: the site has saved me major bank because of the mod days and not having to pay people to hang parts on my truck with being able to learn from other members and doing things myself. to which end, we would gladly see this site become a modest one time fee site in order to maintain the open culture that makes it so much fun.

I'm glad it went off as well as it did. We were actually planning it for about a month and a half. We were going to post up some stuff about a week before yesterday but not go into too much detail. Some of the other Mod's and I were going to post up some stuff and call out Bob then make it look like we got "fired" as moderators.

Jerry texted me lastnight asking if it was real. I told him yes, I couldn't fold that easy!

    Thanks Chris and well stated.
I too would gladly pay a reasonable fee to maintain the integrity of TW in it's current format.
I was truly worried yesterday and praying it was a joke. Like the "Mom and Pop" general stores have been replaced by chain convenience stores; or the Barber shop I used get my haircuts from has been replaced by Great Clips; so too could our TW become just another marketing infested place on the internet.

We owe a lot to TCBob for not letting that happen.

To put it in perspective it's the difference between:
    1) Hanging out in your buddy's garage drinking coffee/beer and BSing or working on your truck.

    Or

    2) Seeing a friend at the shopping mall.

I, for one, am NOT fond of shopping malls.

It was funny to see all the basement trolls pop out of the woodwork too. It's like it was the first time they've seen the light of day.
