It’s not the number of posts that matter but the number of educational and quality post’s members frequent TW for. Give it some thought and let’s contribute accordingly. Cheers!

That's a good point. This is a great site to learn from (and to also have some fun once in a while).

Themaster makes a good point, and the "competition" will be changing from # of posts to members who make quality posts. Incidentally, the audio write-up that 007Tacoma made a while back is definitely one of my favorite posts.

Thanks! I appreciate that it has become a sticky in the Forum.

I love this forum. It has answered questions that I have had, and it is awesome to be able to help others as well. On top of all that, you guys are all first rate.

You can still BS with us. I think Themaster is just trying to keep "junk" posts off the forum. You know, posts that really don't contribute to either the knowledge or the fun on this forum. Posts like these:

-that's great

(yeah, we know)

-wow

(again, we know)

-I agree

(ok, tell us why)

-I think this is crap

(ok, tell us why or just keep it to yourself)

-I washed my clothes today

(...and the relevance is???)

I think he thought we were trying to compete with each other to get the most amount of posts up. We were just giving each other a hard time. This forum, in my humble opinion (which I value greatly), is to talk about our Tacomas and all the fun that we have with them. It should NOT be a competition about who can get their numbers up with "junk" posts.

Contribute to the fun and the knowledge and we will love to talk to you (you already do that - you should have no worries).

(BTW - "Welcome to TW!" is not a junk post! )

well it's not about who's beating who on the BS part, but thanks mark i think we should have this as a side conversation about who's catching up with who lol. i think what you have posted previously does make a point of what to post. so ok lets move on....... lol

The rep system is a cool idea, unfortunately i think awareness is very low. I have been on the site for a few weeks now and this is the first i've heard of it. The only reason i found this thread was because i was bored at work and started checking out forums i don't usually visit. It might be a good idea to figure out a way to make everyone aware of the system.

we have a similar type of thing on a moto forum i'm an admin of....whats really nice is that there are people from all over the world buying and selling stuff for their motos, and it's kind of like ebays "feedback"...helps give a good indication of if you might want to do business with someone or not

btw, is there a way to see what your rep is (i.e. how many good or bad ratings you may have gotten)

Go to "User CP", top left of your screen and you'll see.

Once your in your User CP scroll down.. there is a section titled "Latest Reputation Received"... the header says how many points you have and the content are some of your recent reputation points and their comments.

If you go to the Members List and click on reputation it will sort the list by most reputable person.

I haven't seen a place where you can see the number of reputations. Themaster and tcBob, did I miss it? Is there a place to see another user's number of reputations?

Look now and see if the reputation section appears now... I know that you have at least one rep. point.

Hello Tacoma brothers and sisters,
I just saw this new reputation system...curious to see how it pans out. One question though, did everyone's rep start at 0 or was there a starter amount for all members?

I believe that everyone started at zero, but I am not sure of that. Maybe tcBob can clarify that for us.

Personally, I think that most of the members on this forum should have a high reputation. The main reason that this is my favorite forum is the members.
