Lightbulb New TW Things 9/18/09

Ok two small new things on the site. I tweaked the database so you can now search for 2 character phrases. I did this so people can search for tire sizes, among other things (like 265 70). Previously the minimum search length was 3 characters, so people searching tire sizes were sol.

Second new thing is I'm playing with autolinking certain phrases in posts so they link to relevant, helpful threads. For instance, the word tonneau covers in a post will auto link to a fat thread filled with tonneau pictures. It's sort of like the similar threads box at the bottom of every thread, but it's more visible. It's experimental for now so there's only a few phrases/words it will auto link.

And my larger project is still being worked on but I'll ask for some testers soon to help me work out the kinks on it.

Thanks guys

How about a tagging system so all the threads would be cross-linked several ways?

For practical purposes, I see a lot of the same questions asked again and again b/c most people lose patience reading through hundreds/thousands of threads rather than just asking an old question again and again...

Any way to have a list of tags to choose from when tagging to keep things all tight?
