This is bullshit. Why is it so hard to link threads from our own damn forum in posts?

    1. Click hyperlink button
    2. Paste URL
    3. ????
    4. Links to the FORUM FREAKIN INDEX
    Seriously...what the hell?

The button that looks like the earth with an infinity symbol in front of it.

I'm quite familiar with vBulletin (I own a copy) and this is the only forum I've ever had it happen on. And it's quite consistent.

I did after fooling with it for some time. I tried just flat pasting the URL into the post without the URL tag brackets and it worked. Then I tried again with the URL tags and it worked too....wth? Am I going crazy?

Or you can use the little world Icon, and it will work too.

So what would cause it to do what I'm talking about? Clearly, in the thread I commented on in the audio section, another member had a "wtf" moment when the link I posted went to the forum index. I'd pasted that one too without URL brackets and it failed. It visually displayed the whole URL like it was correct. Like I said, after tooling with it for a minute or two I got it right.

What causes it? It's really annoying and if I hadn't checked my own link I'd have never known.
