I think OZ does that to see who's talking about him. He usually shows up a few min after you mention his name in a thread. lol

MTGirl gives you a small ration of shit and you start waving the white flag in defeat??

I'd assume, just like any other setting on TW, that the user could choose to turn it off if they didn't like it (for example if you were MTGirl and got tagged anytime someone mentioned sammich or the kitchen).

I don't really know how it should work though... Whether it should be something like a tag (but it couldn't clutter up the thread and make all kinds of colors or that would be stupid) or else something like a button right next to the report button. Click the button, type in the username of the person you want to get the attention of, and then that's it. I dunno, I just see plenty of times where I see a thread that I know of someone who could help out on but I am not going to take them time to compose a pm to send them.

    No.

I think, in theory, its a good idea but I can see how people would mess with it and it could become a nuisance.

he's knows better than to argue with me. right kid?

You guys are making it sound like I don't know how to use Pmd... how many times have you ever seen a thread and taken the time to direct someone else there? Never happens

Well I've never done it, but I've taken the time to find the thread that answers their question/problem & posted it.

I'm want to bring this guy back from the dead a year and a half later because I still think it would be a good feature.

Another forum I use does tagging. It would be sweet if this forum did it. For example if I want to tag some people for a planned meet or trail run, I could go @MadTaco461 and I would get a notification to check out that post. Of course directed to the people to who I want to invite. I usually see on here man I wish I got an update about that. I rarely actually fish through my subscribed threads if I haven't been on here for a few weeks. I could PM, which is my current solution to this.

^I agree with the above post. I was about to create a new post about this. It's called mentions on T4R and is really useful to get someone's attention, especially if they have some particular knowledge in the topic. If freaky suggest it being implemented and its not like Facebook at all. Who knows about TW but its not abused on T4R for negative purposes.

If nothing else it could almost work like a pm so that no one else knows you sent someone there. Just a list somewhere similar to a pm in the control panel that you can choose to address or not. To avoid clutter, once you have been notified by someone, another person can't direct you there via the same post... :notsure:

Go to sleep. And the Wild lost out... so I don't even care about hockey, or Canada for that matter right now.
