I'm all for folks selling stuff but I'm sick of reading FS threads with cool stuff that I'd like to spend my hard earned money on that people absolutely refuse to ship. We need a "willing to ship vs. local purchase only" differentiation. Ie. FSWTS or FSNS headers. That way the people that are looking through the thread don't waste time on the 5000 things for sale in California which absolutely won't be shipped. ;) Just a thought.....

totally understand where your coming from but we have a logistically diverse group here. (Although buying new doesn't necessarily save us)

There are some great items to be had by many members across the zip codes. That was the only reason I deduced my idea of prefacing threads.

(totally a cop out for my inability to check the FS threads often enough...stupid job with no cell phone or wireless abilities aloft.)

If you live in Cali it will not bother you about the no shipping statement.

I have struck up deals with two folks who backed out due to stating no shipping after the offered to sell it for a shipped price. Both were from Cali.

    Moved to Site Suggestions.

FWIW, Many folks want to try for a local sale first, then if they have no bites, they consider shipping.

I agree the seller should know this but both times they decided their pocket book was more important than their word.

Even funnier is that one of them was a cop I believe, go figure.

You all make great points! (mods, thanks for posting in the proper place, sorry you had to step in). It's definitely a more complex dynamic than I originally thought when I made my post. As they say, a good pilot is always learning.......so are we forum enthusiasts.

I guess in order to register under my categories listed previously sellers would have to make that decision, prior to listing, or possibly updating once they realize the item wont sell locally. Either way, things have sold amongst members for years prior to my brilliant comments so please keep it up. This has turned out to be a very diverse, honest group with one goal in mind. Nice Tacoma's!! I just wish you guys selling great stuff would ship to me dammit. ;) Cheer's folks, have fun!

another thing is there is nothing like the security of knowing you are being handed cash for the item you are selling. no tricky business, no shady situations..

sure there is paypall but there aare always people out there trying to scam...this is the interwebz. the best thing about forums is tho that scammers are not around long if so at all.
