    The better coast
    Is there a way to add a setting to disable pictures so if we are at work or somewhere public we don't have to worry about unexpected content scrolling past our screen?

    There could be like a "view picture" option to actually view specific picture if its like a "what is this" kind of thread.

    Control Panel -> Edit Options

    About midway down there is a box titled "Thread Display Options"

    You can unclick the "Show Images" box. Images will show up as a link instead.
    You can also get rid of signatures and avatars.

    It doesn't work for Youtube videos (a preview of the video will still show up).
