that doesn't seem like it would be legal. for example, i am an AV technician, and we are very few and far between. We are pretty well ingrained at GE and we "come with teh contract". so right now i am employed by compucom, but if CC used the contract, whoever hte new company is that gets it, has to hire us on. even if the contract changes, the employees on site stay the same. But what if company X wanted to use their own techs? they could come in, hire us, have us sign no compete agreements, then fire us next week, effectively eliminating the "competition" since we couldn't work anywhere else that uses "company x" (there is a small number of AV companies in the area and they all compete). I dunno, it seems like no compete agreements can be used very unethically if someone wanted to do so

thats funny...my dad OWNS an AV company...he does rentals/sales to businesses and does rentals for corporate events

The way his non competes work though...his employees could leave and go work for a company doing in house AV stuff...but could not go sell or rent it out as a business...make sense?

yeah, i guess so. i can see not wanting your employees to pirate customers, but telling someone they cant start a business doing what they know how to do in the area they live just seems wrong to me. what company does he own? If its in the area we may have used them. for install work we use TelAid, i think they have an office in columbia, i know they have one in charlotte.

    Hello everyone,

I see that this is still coming up.....
Honestly it is actually no one's business, but mine and Jon's....
How it got this far...I will never know......
So did I offer to help Jon with with his group buy to get him out of a bind....
"Yes" absolutely.....Like I said before he means well, just has trouble conveying that to his customers...
Th clause was only for shocks and nothing else and there are a crap load of parts that he can sell and he has access to a whole bunch of parts and
    shocks for that matter.....
I have been helping a lot of you for awhile now with pricing and what have you...
This really needs to be put to bed and if anyone needs to speak to me about...Call me #'s on the site....
The bashing of Jon and my name being thrown around about a clause
that is a private matter does not belong on a forum....
I wish Jon all the best and I said that before....I also said that after a week or so, it was a rocky exit.....It all got handled....
    That's it...Move on.....

    Thank you for your time....
    Sonny

actually, while you're on the forum i need to let you know that i have a slight beef with you completely unrelated to the whole "619" thing. in mid february i sent you a PM regarding rear suspension upgrade for when i get my tax return and never heard back from you. i heard back from every other vendor i PMed. Like i said, not a serious beef but still.... what gives?

eh, i agree. everything "feels" kinda sketchy but i guess in retrospect i have no idea whats going on and i dont want to bash anyone over a "feeling" so i figured it would be best just to drop the whole thing.

That was my fault then about not responding and at the end of February
was right about the time Jon and went our separate ways...
I may have missed a few here and there and I apologize...

    Sorry about that....
