interested in a Texas TW gathering?

trying to get an idea how many would be interested in a meeting in the texas area?
if we have a lot in lousiana we could do east tx or if most are in tx we could do austin/san antionio area?

I live in Austin, but what would we do? Never been to something like that before. Plus, I don't do any off roading. Like other's said on here, "its my diva truck."

just trying to get a feel if there is enough interest.
me, i'm partial to canyon lake area we could have hot dogs, burgers & drinks. those that have to come farther can camp or stay in new braunfels hotels.
just check out each others trucks and compare notes meet new friends.
don't know just thinking out loud.

if we get serious there are lots to do in that area maybe post your other interests besides your tocoma.
i like water parks, scuba diving, fishing, water skiing, boating, and barbqing.
other suggestions.
i'm over just north of houston on hwy 59.

how about we start start thinking about june and see if we can get enough intrest and agree on a weekend, lets try to avoid holiday weekends as the crowds can become pretty thick.?

I am onboard! I will be "moving" to San Antonio this weekend to get ready for my new job there. So, I will be within an hours drive of Canyon Lake (even on a bad day).

I say "moving" because I will be in a 5th wheel RV. My house is just now going up for sale.

That's funny. Almost everyone says the same thing about SA and HOU. Most people I know love Austin, but they only go to visit.

Does anyone want to take point on this?

We need someone to organize it and take care of the details (provided we get enough response).

I would get more heavily involved in getting somehting together, but I will be moving San Antonio (and maintaining a household in SA and Houston). Also, while I love the Canyon Lake/San Antonio/Austin area, I don't know it very well.

We need to answer these questions:

1. Who all is coming? (can't have a get-together without the people)

2. Where will it be? (preferrably reserved so that we can be assured that we have the space)

3. When will we have it?(A non-holiday weekend has been suggested, but nothing exact)

4. What will we do? (Activities? Here are some suggestions from eDave: TW Gathering Thread )

5. Food - I know I gotta eat. (I am all about the Barbeque, but I make some decent Fajitas, Fried Catfish, Hamburgers, Crawfish Etoufee, Seafood Gumbo, etc... NOTE: I can't feed everyone. Remember the two households part )

I would love to see this get-together come to be. I will be more than happy to help out with the cooking. I will have to ask my wife about helping out with the cost.

Does any one else like disc golf? If anyone would be interested in that there is a disc golf course in Wimberley called Circle R that has camping, great views along the drive there and surrounding areas. We should be able to reserve it for a weekend.

I'm sorry that I can't be the ring leader on this one. I've got too much going on right now. Working two jobs, planning an over seas wedding, and trying to start a new business. I will show up and eat all that great food though

We may need to do a BYOM (bring your own meat). And if we end up camping who's bringing the keg?

Congrats on the wedding and business! I have never done disc golf, but I am willing to give it a try.

I suggest we hit up one of the local breweries to sponsor us a keg (or maybe I am just dreaming).

this is great!!!! it's finally coming together. let me know how it goes because i will plan one here in central fla. got to find an area that would accomodate more than 50 people ofcourse with an organize event like this can be duplicated in a different region. hopefully we all could have a TW site gathering. well all the best and post photos
