Looks like some of the long term members are getting frustrated with old thread polls being bumped by votes on the polls in those threads. Understandable.

Can your forum guru change it so they aren't bumped with a vote, only a comment?

Or should I start another poll?

we had it the other way and people wanted it this way...

if it keeps happening, we'll probably change it the other way

Or what about having a set time limit on when you can vote on the poll, like a month or whatever?

I figured you were already working on this, I'm OK with however you go on it.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I think a default close period of 3 months would be good with a selectable option to keep it open indefinitely. That gives people enough time to see it but we don't have to worry about the same poll coming up three years later. Plus anyone who doesn't take the time to sort through the options will just accept the default of 3 months (or so).

I think this needs to happen. Threads getting bumped by poll votes is starting to get annoying IMO.

Also, to a certain noob member, notice how I searched and found a thread regarding what I want to say rather than starting a duplicate thread?
