    What about bumping the size (100 KB) and allowing gif images in there? Keep the length and width the same.

    You can have gifs and animated gifs too. I keep the max size low (30KB per avatar) so pages don't take forever to load.

    good point. I've got a 67.2 kb gif that's just begging to be avatarized. With the amount that I post, I think the pages would take a while.

    30KB is perfect then.
