look over on TTORA.com theres tones of them over there. It depends on your truck your budget and your purpose. ive seen a 100% functional truck done for around 1500 bucks. but that also depends or your mechanical abilities also. if you had to pay a shop i couldnt imagine what it would cost. If your truck is already 4wd then it could be fairly cheap.. Prerunner a little more expensive, and a 5 lugger.. start with another truck.

While flaunting the gold chunk falling from your wallet you must have missed everything my post said. Please re-read it as it said it depends on your mechanical abilities and and of course your parts chosen. If you started with and IFS 4wd pick up already then all you would need is some leafs, steel, an axle, maybe a driveline and some other misc stuff. But if you want an indestructible mall crawler with chromoly this and gold plated that, you will end up with a 10k plus tab. Xtreme 4x4 just did an sas yesterday on a fullsize IFS blazer yesterday, including front and rear axles and regears with new wheels and tires for under 1500 bucks. it can be done.. cheaper without a summit catalog. Like i said check out TTORA and you will see what can be done on the cheap.

indestructible mall crawler? Just because you hear some shit on tv doesn't mean it's real. Get your damn facts straight. not one person can SAS a truck for $1500, unless DAMN near everything was free. You haven't even done a SAS, nor do you even probably own a SFA truck. I bought maybe $200 of summit parts.

Please don't spread rumors to people and get them thinking you can swap a SFA for $1500.

i paid for the 2k SAS kit from Skys offroad design
350 for a D44 jeep grand wagoneer axle that had taco leafmounts on it.
like 300 i think for a steering part from bud
about 100 for fluids
x amount for labor
1800 in parts to lock and regear
60 for a beefed up axle cover
free leaf springs like
30 in flap disks for the grinder
welder wire
$150 for a new front dshaft
and more costs that i cant think of

dont get angry cuz you spent all your money on that. It appears you probably have never been to a junk yard. there is used vehicles there you can get cheap parts off of. If you can weld you can do his no problem. if you can rebuild your front axle, there is more money saved. on pickups you can take rear springs mixed and matched (30 bucks at the junk yard) and place them up front. datin fab has all of trail gear, all pro (ect) parts cheap you can instal late model fj40 cruser rotors with 89-95 v-6 pickup calipers for awesome brakes, (about 160 bucks) you would need a high steer system and a driveshaft fabbed roughly 200 bucks. shocks its your hoice lets say hundred bucks. the axle you can junk yard it for 100 bucks. with some welding and a little metal its a swap. it can easily be done. Will it be as pretty as yours? nope. Will it be be as functional, close. and the cost super cheap. it can be done you dont even have to do the brakes. A complete toyota axle is just that. with some brake lines a steering system, springs and shocks thats an sas. why you are so opposed to it being possile to do it cheap i dont know.

As we have established many times, yes, you can do it cheap (though not as cheap as you're describing...nowhere near) if you're willing to have a shitty swap.

People who take this stuff seriously, they want new, brand name parts. And there's a reason for it. Junkyard parts have an unknown history. They may be fine....they're more likely going to break...or have seal problems...or god knows what else.

I could've lifted my truck 3" with spacers for about $100. But I didn't. Because it's shit. And people who use their trucks seriously offroad wouldn't settle for such a patchwork solution in a SAS either.

Go ahead and do a junkyard SAS if you want to. Not my truck...thank god.

If you can weld you can do his no problem. if you can rebuild your front axle, there is more money saved. on pickups you can take rear springs mixed and matched (30 bucks at the junk yard) and place them up front. datin fab has all of trail gear, all pro (ect) parts cheap you can instal late model fj40 cruser rotors with 89-95 v-6 pickup calipers for awesome brakes, (about 160 bucks) you would need a high steer system and a driveshaft fabbed roughly 200 bucks. shocks its your hoice lets say hundred bucks. the axle you can junk yard it for 100 bucks. with some welding and a little metal its a swap. it can easily be done. Will it be as pretty as yours? nope. Will it be be as functional, close. and the cost super cheap. it can be done you dont even have to do the brakes. A complete toyota axle is just that. with some brake lines a steering system, springs and shocks thats an sas. why you are so opposed to it being possile to do it cheap i dont know.

My SAS doesn't look pretty, if you want a pretty looking SAS, talk to Wyatt, he spent over $60,000. Extremely function, and excellent looking.

I saw your truck there and was like "Who the hell is that???" Haha yeah I went and shot pictures mostly. Hunter Offroad did the SAS for my cousin and then another shop did his rear axle swap. We went to the BBQ last year as well. I know masada and some of the FJ guys showed up. 08pretaco was there and I brought RPain as well. Small world indeed!
