baja claws are mall crawler tires unless they are cut and siped. or flipped backwards.

 

Mall clawin is the best.... Thats were all the ladys are lol. Baja claws do pretty good in the sand and at the moment im 7 blocks away from the entrance of Pismo dunes. Claws suck every where else tho.

 

oh ok, that works then. i think they were origionally designed for sand and snow mainly.

At The moment i dont have any pictures flexing. I did the rear and go it to sit level with no blocks but the angle of the shackle was kinda shitty. So im working on fixing the shackle angle and making it look better and more functional. I got some more pictures of when it was on 33 and a leveling kit flexing hard.... I thought ill put my buddy truck in here if you want some flexing pictures.....

 

Ya its not to bad i think any major mods you do to any truck is at least 2 grand. I rather sas it than put a 10 inch whiplash kit

and your buddies truck.... does it have a rear drive shaft in? how can it flex that much?

 

Do you want a picture of the front hanger. Its going to be a little bit because im 6 hours away from my truck.

Cost wise i would say under 2 grand for axles and all the stuff to solid axle it and get it on the road. I got 1600 bucks into brand new mtr's the old style and 3.5 inch back spacing pro comp rims.
Its just taken me awhile to round up enough money to blow on a toy. Ive ran into a lot of problems with putting a ford hp 60 in but its well worth it.


My buddy truck didnt have a driveline in in that picture but he put one in and it flexed the same. But he narrowed the rear of the frame and moved the axle perchs towards the pumpkin and used dodge mega cab spring for the rear.

 

So i decided to put some newer pictures up. I still havnt made a front driveline been way to busy with work but now i got some time and some money to finish everything










Now im wishing i had gone with bigger tires but that will be after i wear out my mtrs.

So i got stuff to do rear disc brakes today. Started on that tonight and ran into some problems with the brackets i got so i decided to cut them and make them work. Ill throw up some pictures of it tomorrow.

If i got time ill throw in my new t case/ crossmember and get some pictures of that.

i never gave much thought to a solid axle swap but, when i pay this thing off i'm wanting to do a heavy duty one!

lol buy an older 4 runner to drive around while they work on the taco.

i knew it was a lot to do to your truck but, to see it all laid out is overwhelming lol i could never do this myself i would need an accomplished shop to do it right for me and thats a shame because that makes the price borderline retarded for a top notch set-up.

 

If i was going to redo it i would have GOT EVERYTHING up front. My biggest problem was figuring out the brakes. Since i have toyota chevy and ford trying to match everything up and make lines and doing disc brakes has been a nightmare. Now i can tell you exactly what you need if you need help.

Another one that i would consider again is my suspension. 4 link front and rear but money forced me to do leafs. Im stoked on how my front leafs came out im super happy with them and flex and drop out good.

The junkyard has been my friend but some stuff you have to buy for full price lol.

 

Erm, you planning on going duals or crawl box or something?
Cuz Tacoma's have chain driven cases...

Edit: nevermind forgot Inchworm and Marlin sell a v6 twin unit

 

Im going to do twin sticks first on a single chain driven case from marlin. Do that until it brakes or i save up 2k to do duals.

 

Some pics from my rear disc 14 bolt hd swap

Pretty basic kit but i ran into problems. I had to cut the brackets to fit since i have an axle thats an odd 14 bolt. I ended up putting my brackets behind the flange instead of bolting them to it. I talk to Trevor at WFO concepts and got his input. He told me to match a 3/4 inch gap between the rotor and bracket in order to have clearance for the pads. Then you have to adjust the height so the pins that hold the caliber dont hit the rotor. I used a penny to keep my height right. After i figured out all of this it went really fast.

Another flex picture nothing special but found that my steering shaft was hanging up. So i have to build another one with 2 u joint instead of one at the box... more pictures to come and hopefully some wheeling ones
