We'll just have to agree to disagree. There's an argument for doing it either way.

also this a garentied ride home is very nice.. besides i built my own trailer and the tow rig was fairly cheap and in its self another project..
lol - that's like saying why buy a commuter - keeps the miles on my truck.... there's a reason so many people have a puller.

That being said, check your phone RCTOY.

I can agree to that.

I don't plan to trailer mine, but there are certainly a few trails/places that I will consider it for. They're the ones that it's very possible that the truck won't be street legal by the time it gets back to pavement. Much less driving it down curvy mountain roads.

I didn't drive a trailer

I have a beater I drive daily to save gas milage, but I don't ever intend to trailer my Taco to/from a trail.

Hell, my shakedown run was 480 miles each way.

Just like you drive your DD to save on gas, trailering a rig saves on wear and tear.

Honestly i plan to drive my taco to 90% of the trails i run but it's nice to have a tow rig for long distance stuff. And it doesnt save me gas in town but on the free way it will even with 11K behind it.. i just figured if i was going to buy another rig to drive around i might as well get one that can do all the stuff my taco cant like pull big ass trailers cuz my dad and i do have a need for that..

Yeah, haha but I have become pretty resourceful on locating parts if needed. I have a comprehensive spreadsheet of everything on my truck including part numbers so should locating something become a need, I can do it easily.

It just so happened it was easier to locate a spring on Erics truck than going behind the shop last time lol.

That's where the confidence in ones ability to repair comes into play. Hell I used to and still do wheel bearing along the roadside...

Guess im kinda stuck up i like to work on my rig while its in a heated shop on the lift.. What's the point in dropping 4K on a lift if im gonna sit on the side of the road and change wheel bearings??? Im not thats why i have a car trailer to get the truck to all my bad ass tools at home.. but hey that's just me. my 94 sas'd truck had a 7mge in it and was on 37's it was dd'd everywhere it was wheeled exept moab and drove me home (some times FWD style) every single time.

My point was if you are resourceful anything is possible. Including not needing a trailer.

And your argument sucks. Why camp anywhere if you have a house? Same logic. Because eventually you WILL have to work on something away form your lift and "bad ass" tools.

I get what youre saying and i agree if you are resourceful anything is possible and i have proved this many times. Hence why my new plates say techoma. Though if im doing anything major the truck is going to the shop. As far as camping and houses vs. repaing shit on the trail and at the shop well come on dude i camping to camp, i dont go wheeling to make repairs (though it does happen) so that argument sucked.

Truck on jack stands on top of a trailer with the axle ripped apart in the middle of koa...beautiful!

heres the catch i dont have to pay for ORI struts and i get free steel... so really no cost in doing links but huge cost in leafs... and i would need to narrow my axle and get new inner shafts with links. I have ran the numbers on the 3 link calculator and everything comes out cherry. So i guess we will see
