    I seriously think I am just going to build a minitruss. Just do not want to trust that old shitty center section being welded. maybe if I had the proper rod and a stick welder and someone that knew how to weld to nodular iron.

    Just the norm skids, sliders, & 35's
    There is some high Ni content wire but the shit ain't cheap. I remember it being talked about on pirate but not sure of the brand.

    allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
    I would do a mini truss that also captures he top 3 bolts to help take the stress from the rotational forces.

    TRD s/c @ 9lbs, Unobtanium Welding 321SS Full Race Exhaust, B&M s/s, TRD 1st Gen CAI, sittin sic track ready drop, TSW Tanka's with 275/40/18's all the way around, 4300k hid's in headlights and fogs, with more to come
    you can get ni-rod wire shits not cheap though. although if it was me i would avoid welding to the cast center section and truss it, plus the truss has the added benefit of making the entire housing stronger (depending of truss design of course)

    Shouldn't be too hard to make the truss. Especially with a brake press to bend the steel :D Then I shouldn't have to worry about special welding or anything. Just regular MIG welding. Packaging will be tight, but it'll be :cool: Can't wait to get this shit done... March needs to hurry up.

    im with you. Cant wait for my atlas to show up so I can re do my links push the axle forward and take care of my last two rub issues. well three if you count the new ones I will make with the body by lowering it.

    DS? not sure what that is. I have everything I need other than an atlas and drive lines. would be nice to get some new hubs but not sure that will happen before moab. My tow rig has been an expensive bitch. it just got a NV4500MT swapped in and the 47RE auto pulled out and next on the list is 300 HP RV injectors.

    Right. Im an idiot. Well I did build a front shaft and it works but I cant use all my down travel due to binding on the Tcase side. so the atlas and new changes ill be making along with new 1.5 ton drive line parts should fix all that.

    No experience, but Detroit is stout. Way way way stronger than a lunchbox locker. You'll never have issues with that!

    Does it do the whole ratcheting deal to allow the outside wheel to spin faster when on road?

    I like the idea of that just because mine sees so much road use and don't care to wear out these tires super fast.

    Also my uncle had a locker that was a true locker. Didn't ratchet or anything, and broke his rear axle. Given this was in a heep with stock axles and 35s. But still makes me nervous.

    You're not going to break a rear axle shaft on 35's. I beat on my 82 hard on 37's and steelies and welded with no issues besides wheel bearings. My 39.5's will be pushing the limits of the taco shafts though.

    Not to mention jeeps are c clip axles..

    Yeah, I didn't think I would lol don't think his was due to the locker. More of 35s on a stock dana 35 is just a bomb waiting to happen. Plus he isn't exactly easy on it lol

    You know if the Detroit is a ratcheting style?
