Spidertrax (yes they make more then wheel spacers) & Currie are probably the two best housing/axle manufacturers, as far as rock-crawling goes anyways.

They make toy housings? I knew they made 60s, 70s and 9 inches. The spidertrax 9 inch is badass, plus 50 degrees of turning can help.

Yeah, The Currie axle's are the bomb. My front is one of the aluminum housings and the rear is the Iron Jock.

SpiderTrax don't make toy axles they market to the race world and toy axles can't handle high horse power can BIG tires . I think the SpiderTrax housing is the best fabricated housing on the market with RuffStuff a close second. Currie makes great cast/forged housings All are just about bomb proof when built right.

    .

This right here is hard to believe. they might be able to be built as strong as tons but by the time you spend all that money i could have built a ton up with CRV axles and an ARB which is my plan

Who says you can't bomb 60+ in the desert with a solid front axle? built right and linked you can keep up with the LT guys.

this is true sure they don't ride as great but King of the hammers has shown that a correctly built SFA rig is a better way to go..

Yeah, there is no 80 series thats going to shit on 1 tons. I've seen those things explode all day long on the trails. they are strong but not as strong as a 1 ton.

thats why in Australia and South Africa the vehicle of choice when you need strength is the Nissan patrol with it's 1 ton copy of their axle's Toyota's fall a distant second.

A lot of the patrols use the H 260 axle with massive 10.4" ring gears and 34 spline axle shafts. Not breaking those puppies.

Yeah this is prob true, Toyotas are stupid expensive to build. Main reason why there isn't toy axles under the 4runner. Everything will break sooner or later.

This thread has been dead lets talk links. I'm trying to figure the best geometry for my rear and still keep the tank in the stock location.

Here is what I started with I've been moving everything around to get the roll axis down I'm thinking i can get my panhard up more dropping it further.

And seeing how it's the rear is there any negative affect on moving the panhard back say 8" of the center line to get the roll axis down even further :notsure:

Most rear 3 link builds ive seen have the panhard offset from centerline by a few inches so i think you're good there. To get the best panhard angle will come down to messing with bracket and panhard lengths and see what will fit best. I beleive that'll come after the other links are already in place though.

Yeah i know the offset is good i just didn't know if having it 8" or so would affect anything else. This link jargon is mind boggling. There is so many factors that come into play and even a one inch movement drastically changes things. The Pirate guys are trying to talk me out of a 3 link rear and run a 4 link but if i can get my numbers close I'm running a 3 link and I'll make up the rest with coilovers and sway bars. i really want to keep the tank where it's at.
