Whys the tie rod mounted behind the axle? What else can you tell me. Figure it's a diamond axle. 9.5 or 8" diffs? Thoughts?

Is it is has a cummings 4BT in it and those are torsion bars behind the axle.

The truck was likely built in Wallace, ID.

It is, I took the pictures. :) Thanks though.

It was built by Peak mechanical out of Idaho. I'm curious more about the axle swap.

The TC707 model truck utilizes the rigid Toyota Tacoma Frame and cab assemblies as the base for this rugged truck designed for underground utility use. Clean turbo diesel power is provided by the Cummins Tier 3, QSB 3.3: electric controlled engine. This quiet and fuel efficient engine transfers power through the reliable Toyota 5-speed manual transmission and the electronic shift-on the fly transfer case into our specification built, extreme duty, fabricated one-ton axle housings, front and rear, wheel hub assemblies, and braking are handled by O.E.M. components.

    Theres me!

I just want to know more about the front axle swap in particular. I know peak has posted a couple times in another thread but never really figured too much out about this axle.

The guy that owns Peak Mechanical is an awesome guy, I can't remember his name at the moment but Ive spoke with him on the phone before. the price tag for one of those is out of my league... My neighbor is very close friends why the owner and use to do SCCA with/ against him.

I'm starting to look at SAS again. I'm wanting an axle just like that but on leaves. Hence my bringing this back up, this all renewed my curiosity.

Like this but with a toy axle like the one above.

Looks to me like it needs a wash and some TLC on the one end of the axle. Is it axle or brake that appears to be leaking ?

too much dirt to diagnose. It's mining truck, I be it rarely sees pavement judging from the undercarriage.

Isn't it? I assume the front is the same. The pictures of the front aren't as good but to me it looks like the same shape and they went with new 1 ton axles and toyota doesn't make driver drop axle do they?
