2 ton axles??

so theres this older guy that i work with, and he has this old mud buggy with a jeep body on it and what he says is 2 ton running gear. i dont know a whole lot about axles and what would be good and bad about these, but they definitely caught my eye... any thoughts? i think it would be cool to have them under my yota one day. but definitely not on tractor tires haha. anyways lemme know what you guys think of them.

I think those are Timken axles judging by the pics. That is an old heavy duty chassis, maybe International. I don't know anything about them though, just that Eaton's have removable diff covers and Rockwell front loaders are stamped and those don't look like either.

 

well thanks for the info, i do believe you are correct, i remember him saying something about international.. im trying to get him to come off them but it will probably be a few years haha

Those are Eaton 2.5 ton sideloaders. The problem is the front is reverse rotation so you would HAVE to use the np200 tcase that came out of said truck.

They are completely useless unless you are building a mud rig, like that one.

 

I'd agree those look like eaton's. They would make great axles for an expedition/tow rig. Those would be to big and heavy for a Toyota IMO. Fab 9's , custom 80s or built one tons would be the way to go.
