'Twas a nasty one indeed!!!! Tornado confirmed in Goochland....and the RVA area had 80-100 mph straight line winds!! Never seen anything like it.

Howdy fellow central Virginians. Joined a few months ago and just getting started on modding my truck. Probably have seen a few of you around Chesterfield County.

Glad everyone survived the storms around this part. I had a tree fall on the house last fall (Hurricane) so I think that storm cleared my lot for me...

Just the standard things so far (though most of them are probably not considered technically mods):

    • Bigger tires on stock sport rims
    • hose clamp on tailgate
    • K&N air filter
    • Leaf spring spacer kit from stealership (did that yesterday)
    • tinted windows
    • painted emblems
    • cb radio install
    • homelink remote install
    • pioneer double din radio install
    • ordered katzkin leather to put on either this weekend or next (looking like next as it has not arrived yet)
    Things I'm looking to do:

    • paint stock sport rims black
    • satoshi grill with some lights behind it
    • 3" lift (probably an OME kit)
I need to throw up some pics once I get a chance to get outside and snap some.

Gumbo, keep an eye out at dealership used lots, if you're looking for used... There's more room for negotiations there... If you get impatient, you can go to CarMax like I did, you're not going to get ripped off there, but you're not going to get a deal either. Watch Craigslist too.

Chris, how are things out in C-ville ?

Thanks guys. I was originally looking used, but after seeing how much the Tacomas hold their value I am leaning towards getting a new one. Definitely still keeping my eyes open for a good deal used though...the wallet would appreciate that.

If/when I get one I'd be up for a meet-up. I enjoy off-roading, but I've always been a passenger, never the driver. Any tips on good places nearby for some beginner level off-roading? I have read about Shoe Creek but that sounds like it might be for a more advanced driver than me, especially if I get a new one...
