Hah, I'm all about getting good deals, but I think for what it is $1000 is more than fair. It runs and has toyota axles under it, even if it's rusty etc.

Lol. A good deal makes me feel great. Screwing somebody over makes me feel like a jackass. I'd rather get a good, but fair, deal.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
BTW, rust is the biggest nightmare on vehicles.

So I have the solution to all of this. Give Justin $1000, let him go by the truck, and whatever he talks down, you split 50/50. You don't feel like an ass, and you get a bulldog to do the negotiating for you to get a good deal on the truck.

Holy shit, that looks like a deal. Paul, I'm just going to have to give you a case of beer to find me my trail rig when I'm ready. What do you think it weighs though? Not positive I could trailer it.

You'll be relieved (or more likely, won't care) to find out that I'm not buying that sami this weekend. Talked to the dude on the phone, apparently he bought it a month ago (so why's he selling it?) and the original owner is dead, so they gave him a bill of sale and instructions to prove that to get the title (NC requires notarized title transfers).

Long story short, I told him if he works the title out clean and clear, I'm interested, but otherwise, nope.

that shit happens all the time on CL. Happened to with my Jeep. My roommate was going to buy a taco recently....same thing. Apparently people don't want to pay taxes.

Btw, Jim, I search craigslist using certain keywords related to built rigs like "dana", "axles", "crawler", "locker/locked", etc. It usually filters out a lot of stuff. Trust me, as soon as I pad the bank account back up enough to get a truck and trailer, the cherokee will be gone and I'll have a rock rig. I know theres the whole built vs bought argument but buying something built usually saves gobs of money. That guy probably has twice into that rig than what hes asking. easy.

edit: yeah, you def couldn't trailer it. buggys are heavy as shit. You might could save towing weight on a custom trailer, but that rig is probably 4k-5k lbs alone.

Yeah... I mean i know i don't NEED a title for an offroad vehicle, but just my luck it's got a payday loan lien on it that has accrued 3000% interest since 1976 or some shit.

hmm... I wonder how much it'd weigh and what kind of trailer I'd need. That's the other appeal of the Sami to me, I can haul it with the truck I've got.

Yeah, whatever I get has to be trailer-able with my current setup. I like my truck too much and I've put too much into it - samurai looks to be perfect for what I want, I'll stick looking for those.

Wow, Justin, there's some hate there. We're talking about vehicles that cost not a whole lot more than your shocks and tires. :)

Edit: So shut your pauper ass up before we repo your computer.
