Yep, all of the armor did its thing, just like it's supposed to. IFS skid took a blow and slid over, T-case skid kept it from getting damaged, and sliders kept the doors out of the trees. It was a sudden violent shift left when the rock moved (I was in the truck with him).

Different strokes for different folks. Wheel anything long enough, and the risk of damage gets higher. Paul realizes that the kind of wheeling he wants to do probably isn't a good idea in a DD. Nobody's saying you gotta total your junk out on the trail to have a good time, but the risk exists regardless of what you're wheeling.

Oh, and I feel totally dirty and redneck, but I want a RZR with a huge lightbar and an LED CB antenna. :burnrubber:

Yeah, me too. The price makes me cringe though. I could buy a nice used Taco, and do many mods for the price of a RZR.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I hear they come with attractive women and hair gel too.

Better get an oversized trailer and some chrome rockstars!

Attractive women and hair gel? I'm headed to Big #1 on the way home from work!

Where do I get the 24" chrome deep dish dually wheels?

Yeah... guy that was with us has a '92 LC, lifted, 37's, ARB, built out well. Has $4500-$5k in it. I had $3k-ish in the gold truck. There's definitely better "fun for your buck" out there.

Only thing that's attractive about them to me is that it's a trailer wheeling rig that's towable behind just about anything. Trailer a 60, 62, or 80 series land cruiser, and you need something somewhat serious to haul it. I could tow a RZR behind my wife's Jetta.

Well folks, it is now fixed and back on the road! I must personally recommend Bobby at Kurt's in Birmingham. He took my beat up driveshaft and retuned it and balanced it as well as putting a nice shiny paint job on it in about an hour and a half! Threw it on then spent some time greasing the u joints and other maintenance while I down there, then hopped on the interstate and got up to speed to test it out. No vibrations!!!!!!

Thanks a big one Dave for the recommendation, helped out tremendously!

Glad it all worked out for ya man! I figured he'd get you back on the road pretty quick. He was also the guy I talked to about doing a 1 piece drive shaft when I was considering one.

Damn, waiting on pictures in this thread is like waiting for Xmas.

Glad you got her back on the road Justin.

I'd take a RZR if someone bought it for me. Other than that, I can't see paying the price. Although a LED CB Antenna would be the shiz-nit on my truck!

Agree with everyone else, the price is just wayyyy too high. They're 10-12 grand and up, right? You can buy a used rock buggy for the price of one!

I'm still eyeing axle-swapped caged Samurais though... I've seen a few in the 3-5 range that are basically roided up RZRs.

Yeah, nah, that was somewhat tongue in cheek. There's better ways to spend money. If money was no object, or I was fantastically irresponsible with it, I'd get one. As it stands... nope.

New RZR 1000cc 2 seater is like $19k

Congrats man! I remember the first house I bought. Was all great until you sit down to sign papers for 4 hours straight. It's all worth it in the end though.
