Does anyone want to get together and do some scouting for places to hunt for deer season? I have hunted private land for a few seasons and want to get back into hunting the national forest. P M me if you are interested.

Depends on what you are after. I like walking in the woods and trying to figure out where/when the deer are traveling. I also like the peace and quiet of being in the woods. Being able to shoot a deer is a bonus.

It actually went great! we found a couple really good trails, a few hog rubs, and we actually kicked up a doe and found where they were sleeping. We pretty much know where we are going to hunt it this year. Will be going out scouting again probly next week and placing our blind.

10-4. I've been checking out some of the places that I've hunted before. Been seeing a few bucks and a bunch of does. Still gonna do some more scouting. I hunt out of a climber.

We went out scouting again this past weekend and saw yet another doe! that would be the second one in 2 days. We think we have a pretty good spot and now we are just waiting on the season to open and we plan to be killing deer!

Do y'all do your own butchering or do you take them to the processor.

I think we are planning to have it processed. This being my first year hunting, I will have to see what he wants to do. We are going pretty much half on everything so we will get it worked out.

i just now found this thread, so i`m posting late. Got my first deer in the Waterhorn Jan. 1972. Returned there once, would like to do it again. Wonder if it`s changed much. Found an old GULF grasshopper oil pump in that jungle.Only saw those things in the midwest Texas and oklahoma. I can see why the British never laid eyes on General Francis Marion in those thick woods/swamps.
