Anyone around the Durham that is some what skilled is sheet metal work? I am about to need to "tub" my fire wall for bigger tires... I am a little scared of sheet metal work and looking for someone to hold my hand and walk me through it....

 

Busy busy busy... I hate my job. Anyone else? Oh well, at least it pays the bills... or some of them. Weekend offroad plans anybody? I would love to skirt around the lake or get into some trails, but nothing too serious... I don't care to flex out or rip off my fenders by stuffing.

That was actually another reason I really had wanted to get an undercover tonneau since it could hold a lot of weight - so that I could put up a two person tent on top and stake it in the ground or hook under the edges... Also I've always wanted to camp in the bed of the truck too... I've done it in a Tahoe and Expedition, but not my truck yet. I think if I left the tailgate down and the tonneau in the upright position I might even be able to manufacture something that would drape around the sides and provide something like that awning and have access from the bottom up (crouch down to get under the awning and get into the bed for sleeping purposes). I think that will be my next project. But I would really like to get some Cheby leaf packs and new shocks for the rear...

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello from the 40/42 area. Haven't read the whole thread yet, but will eventually! I picked my Tacoma up Oct 25th, and have been tinkering with it a bit, it's just a 5 lug 4cyl 2wd 5spd 2.7L, but it gets me to work and back and will hopefully haul a pair of bikes some day! Hope all are well!

When is a meet going to be in the forecast?

 

Tried to get one up here (although not around Raleigh), but it was more than a colossal fail.

 

If I was around I'd be there. Raleigh meets are pretty sparse too. When we do get one together only a few (4or5) show up.

 

Anytime, the shop is always open. Just need some trucks and some people.
