I am a new member here and finally purchased a new (new to me) 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 double cab back in June.

I have already traveled to Montana and back, and had it on the OBX beaches while staying in a house there for a week. I am looking to head to CALO NC over the thanksgiving weekend to do some camping and fishing in the truck.

I am trying to decide how I want my setup to be for the three days down there.

Does anyone already do this trip with their Tacoma? Whats your setup? Suggestions?

Should I get a camper shell and sleep in the back?

Should I take off my mud flaps?

Anything else I need to do to the truck to prepare for the sandy driving weekend? Any tips welcome.
