Official Rock Therapy 2015 Eastern Rollers

Okay ladies here is what we have come up with to assist folks in having a decent route. This route is based of leaving the Richmond, VA area so you would need to look at where you are in relation to Day 1/2 night stops. This is just a helpful guide to assist others in planning and you should see that there are no times/dates associated. If this doesn't work for you then build a route that fits your comfort while behind the wheel time/starting point but Chris was kind enough to do the leg work on the Campground info to make this easier for those in the VA/NC surrounding areas that may be going. I will let the individuals here find groups that work best for them to get out to Utah. No point in driving extra miles just to meet up for some travel camping when it's 12hrs on the road, I know I am opening up the RTT and going straight to bed!

Route to Moab...

camping close to I70, Chief Hosa http://www.chiefhosa.org/

versus heading up to central city...should be a little warmer too..

or free camping along cascade creek trail near idaho springs...http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=126 might be a little snowy still...but that's all forest roads..sure you can find some place up there to setup...

some spots along argentine pass as well near georgetown, http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=60 again maybe snowy still..

typically throughout colorado i tell people they're lazy for going to a campground when there are so many free camping spots in the forest lands....but along i70 it's slim pickings as most of the land is private land

the trails near idaho springs and georgetown aren't too far off the highway and i know argentine and cascade have spots along the trail early on that would be good for camping...

and if you get too high up, you'll be camping in a few feet of snow still

 

Awesome! I'm likin the general route a lot! Will probably head out a day/night early just to break up that for rat ~13 hour day but I plan to join the convoy after that
