OFFICIAL 2015 ROCK THERAPY THREAD IS UP!!!
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/moab/351265-2015-rock-therapy-official-thread.html

This is not going to be a trip for the faint of heart or truck. If you are Open/Open, running a spacer lift, running 265s, don't have armor or have recovery equipment for your truck this is probably not the group for you to go with. I'm not saying you can't go but this group is not geared for that and you may cause some damage to your truck if you follow us. There are many many stock friendly trails in Moab that you could enjoy but may not draw much attention from this group is all I'm trying to say.

We run a bunch of trips in the VA/NC area though out the year that are probably better suited to folks in that category and would love to have you come out and join us. But Moab is gonna tear up a mostly stock Tacoma if you follow the folks I imagine will be rolling out.

The basic plan here is to hit the road and split up the drive to Moab in 2 days (Gonna Suck) or maybe 3 and then enjoy Rock Therapy and roll back home. Its gonna be a 7+ day trip from VA at least...Hence the reason for starting the plans early to secure Vacation/Leave.

Right now this is a place holder for info as it becomes available but I will keep my eyes peeled and update everyone here as to the plans as this all firms up.

In the mean time here is some photos from this years event to get your juices flowing...

Okay ladies here is what we have come up with to assist folks in having a decent route. This route is based of leaving the Richmond, VA area so you would need to look at where you are in relation to Day 1/2 night stops. This is just a helpful guide to assist others in planning and you should see that there are no times/dates associated. If this doesn't work for you then build a route that fits your comfort while behind the wheel time/starting point but Chris was kind enough to do the leg work on the Campground info to make this easier for those in the VA/NC surrounding areas that may be going. I will let the individuals here find groups that work best for them to get out to Utah. No point in driving extra miles just to meet up for some travel camping when it's 12hrs on the road, I know I am opening up the RTT and going straight to bed!

    Route to Moab...

    Travel Day 1- St. Louis, MO (847mi, 12hr 42min)

    KOA 618-931-5160 ~$30 w/ water & electric
3157 West Chain of Rocks Road
    Granite City, IL 62040

    Travel Day 2- Central City, CO (889mi, 12hr 49min)

    Denver West/Central City KOA 303-582-3043 ~$35
605 Lake Gulch Rd. CO Rd 6
    Central City, CO 80427

Travel Day 3- AREA BFE, Moab, UT (326mi, 5hr 21min)

Area BFE LLC, 375 South Main Street
    Moab, UT 84532

Good luck with your route planning and I am looking forward to seeing some East Coasters out there at Moab.

I think planning for a 3 day drive is safer, JIC any problems arise. Especially if I drive a 29 year old 4runner

Glad someone made this thread! I was planning to go next year if I can figure out something with my drivetrain by then!

A 3 day drive sounds best to me too because I plan on driving a 34 y/o pickup! Lol

We could take the Trans-American out there!
