Sounds pretty sweet. I'm interested to see what you've got. We'll work something up.

Anybody here ever replaced the pressure balance valve in a shower/tub? What were the symptoms?

same as a clogged drain? clogged drains typically don't have anything to do with temperature or pressure...

Yeah, I think it's going to be a pain in the ass. Especially since I don't have shut off valves and will have to cut off water to the house.

In the last 2-3 months my water pressure in the master shower has dropped to almost nothing and I have to keep it as hot as it will go just to stay warm. I figure theres nothing else there but the balancer that could be issue.

weird thing though is that my tub is on the same valve and it gets plenty of hot water.

I never knew those things ever existed. Apparently I've never had one. I can tell when I'm in the shower and Tanya starts brushing her teeth.

every house has had some type of balancer since the mid 80's. Some are volume based, some are pressure based. Most new ones are pressure based. It's mandated by state law. When she brushes her teeth you probably notice a loss in pressure. Unless maybe you don't and it burns you every time she brushes her teeth haha.

Actually, it is the opposite. She uses hot water and I end up freezing. Maybe I need to check my balancer!

Gah, just got back trying to buy a Ridgid TS3650 table saw from a guy. Bottom dollar was damn $300, which I'd maybe pay if the thing was in flawless shape, so I went to check it out.

Rusty top, lost the miter gauge, blade guard, riving knife entirely, throat plate's all scratched, blade is worn, button fell off the on/off switch when he hit it. "If you want to spend even $290 on it you can go on down the road."

Eh... I am a fan of HF for some things, but not a table saw. I also want to buy one saw once and have it for years. And yeah, I'm starting to play with woodworking a bit, I'm already over dealing with the small size and small fence of the dewalt jobsite saw I have, although it's very nice otherwise.

Got a big older dewalt contractor's saw, belt-driven with a cast iron top, in great condition, finally! So now I'm all set like, literally forever.
