I have been given the OK from the wife to get a lift on the Taco when I get back from this deployment. I really want to get into some off roading and was wondering what everyone else is running in the NC area. Right now I am looking at the Toytec Ultimate lift kit w/ 17x9 XD Revolver rims and 275/70/17r or 285/70/17r tires. I also am planning on getting some Rock sliders put on and a N-Fab light bar.

    All suggestions are welcome.

I'd go with an 8" rim too. That's what I"m going with on my wheels now. 16x8 Pro Comp 7089s

Although if the price is right I could always use a rental.

If you need any help just let me know. I have already installed three Toytec lifts in the past...

1st one on my 00' Ext. Cab TRD Taco
    2nd on my 07' FJ
3rd on my 04 Dbl TRD Taco

I know my sig. says Colorado...because my wife is still there with a great job and our house...so I am here at Bragg doing my instructor time, hopefully short.

When I was in Colorado they were 35 minutes from my house and great to deal with as far as Toytec goes.
If you have any questions feel free to ask...and 8" rims are great for the trail along with the Toytec ultimate or OME coils and Bilsteins just depends on what you want to spend you can pretty much any of their setups work.

All the push on the 17x8 has me reassessing the wheel I want. I really like the KMC XD Revolvers but they only come 17x9. I do have to say that the Pro Comp 7089's do look good. I've been looking and can't seem to find too many 17x8 wheels. Any one know of any other wheels? They need to be black too, preferably matte. Should I maybe look at a 16x8 wheel?

looks mainly as the tire doesnt look stretched on, but the backspacing u have on 9" rims will make a difference in rubbing a well
