Sorry dude, I didnt log on this morning. We never made it out to 285, Boreas Pass was closed. Then we went to do Devil's Canyon and that gate was closed also. We did make it up to 10,200ft elevation on cascade creek.

it went great. we didn't do the big hill at the start because a group of jeeps were having trouble and taking forever to get up. So we skipped that and entered on at a different part of the trail. it was pretty much smooth sailing with a few tricky (fun) spots. I used the locker so it wasn't that easy of a trail, but we got all the trucks up without any real damage. It was kinda rainy the whole time so we had a little bit of mud/slick rock at times. but overall, a great trip.

It's all good. Spent a nice relaxing day at home but it looks like you had fun. We will have to try an meet up again sometime. Can't believe Boreas Pass was closed. Must have been some snow piled up to close it.

Well to be honest I have never been up there before. When the pavement ends there is a gate that was closed when we got up there today, Tons of snow blocking the gate and beyond. By GPS it looked like that was the road but down to the right the dirt road continued. It looked like that part just went back down, I'm really not sure where it lead to. We just wanted to get on the trail so we decided to go to Devil's Canyon area from there. Cascade Creek was pretty fun, had what looked like first tracks through about the last 2 miles we were able to run.

I'm hoping for some warm temps to get the rest of the snow out of the way in the next 4 weeks.

From the Breck side there is a gate I forgot. Yeah that portion of Boreas is skinny since it is the old railroad route and a shelf road. I could see where it would be closed now due to snow. In the fall it is a scenic route for colors changing and gets super crowded. It is especially fun trying to get by people on that skinny, shelf portion with drivers that have no idea how close they really can go to either side so they hog the entire 1 lane road.
