Once the adjuster gives me the numbers, I may consider buying her back to truggy it out. Drivetrain is still in good shape! I just don't have a place to keep it right now.

Truck was an '07 and did not have side airbags, so no deployment.

I did have my friends hike the peak, and I would have if I didn't have to wait for the tow company. Wasn't much else to do :)

Glad to hear you escaped with very minor injuries.
Off Topic, who makes those running boards on your truck and how much were they?

I think those are Toyota running boards? They were on the truck when I bought it.

so do you think that the sliding on the snow was avoidable? maybe by driving more on the snow? or was the drift too large to move over any further toward the mountain?

i will be heading up there saturday morning and i'd like to keep the number of tacos off that road to 1...i've been thinking of cutting the drive short and parking at the radio towers or one of the switchbacks if there is room...

any word from the insurance company? you planning on buying it back? was it "totaled"?

A small handful of select mods.
NYCO I wouldn't even try it unless you can keep all 4 tires on the dirt. As the snow melts on that shelf road it typically runs across the road and down the shoulder. That is part of the reason his tire slipped and the shoulder gave out. IMO shelf roads are not something you can snow bash just due to the danger.
