yea that's about where i'm at...dont think it's worth the risk...only an extra mile tacked onto the hike and 1 taco in the gully is enough...

This happened @ 6:30am so the snow was rock (ice) hard. No chance of driving further "in". The snow is what caused the initial slide towards the shoulder, and CoTacoTRD is totally right on... the melting snow is what is making the dirt soft. Unless that snow is almost completely gone I'd avoid it and walk. There are a couple places to maybe park above the radio tower, but those really should be left for passing others. Because of others parked @ the trailhead, the tow driver had to BACK UP down 1/2 mile of road, turn around, and back up again to the recovery spot. Not fun in a 1-ton dually w/ boom.

Oh, and as for buying it back and it being totaled... The insurance is considering it a "Total Loss", and are giving me a very fair amount. Almost exactly what I paid a year ago + the accessories.

Haven't asked about a re-buy, but at the moment I simply do not have the place to store it.

Glad you're alright man. I turned around up Kingston Peak on Wednesday on the shelf road passed the mud pits. Rain, snow and hail so I could barely see anyway.

ok ill admit that yes im a 1st gen owner and because your trucks have plastic beds that they were not nearly as tough. . . Boy was i wrong. The best statement to cover this is as follows:
"Fuck an abrahms, Drive a Toyota Truck!"
