New in town

Hi, I recently moved to Henderson, NV from the Salem area of Oregon.

What is there to do here? Where are some places to check out, camping, hiking, and that sort of thing.

My 07 TRD off road is still mostly stock. Any suggested mods or equipment for desert environment are greatly appreciated. Suggested shops for such equipment?

Thanks,

Saw your post on the 2nd gen threads. There's a lot to do around here. Lots of trails, pay campgrounds, and lots of open camping. Just have to make sure you're not on private land, or land that is closed off. There are several campgrounds on Mt. Charleston, one off of the Mormon Wells road that goes between 95 and 15, and lots of open camping in the Wheeler Pass area, or most anywhere on BLM land. Lots of trails on the south side of Vegas/Henderson. Get a good map, such as the "Benchmark" series of road and recreation atlases. There are also several local off-road clubs here.
