I've seen you on the freeway around 5 the last Monday and Wednesday. On Wednesday I waved but not sure if you saw me.

Anyone know who might have my old Taco nowadays? 2011 Timberland Mica AC w/ Leer commercial-grade shell and Toyo MTs on 17" alloy wheels. I traded it off at Reno Toyota about a year and a half ago. I'm trying to clean and reorganize my garage and I have some parts I kept from it that the new owner may want.

So my girlfriend just got accepted to UNR and wants me to move up to Reno with her. What's it like in Reno? What areas are the "bad" or should we stay away from? I figured I'd get feedback from fellow tacoma owners who live in the area to see what's it's like...

Northwest is pretty nice, old southwest, south Reno (south meadows/damonte area) is all nice. Over in sparks the D'andrea and Spanish springs area is nice. I'd stay away from the older mid town area near down town/wells ave/kietzke and also away from the "north valley's, Sun valley, etc

I personally like the Reno/Sparks area quite a bit. Gets hot in the summer but you're an hour from Tahoe and there's tons of 4wheeling surrounding and great camping and hiking in the Sierras.

g'day all. I'm going to be hitting Reno for the first time on the 15th and was hoping you guys might give me some tips for things to do/places to go. looking for a nice day trip to do on Saturday, some nice easy wheeling/ fire roads with awesome views and maybe a spot to stop to make lunch on a grill. there will be 2 tacos, both 4x4 and little up from stock (think BAJA TX / TRDPro type setups)

also maybe some good sports for eats and overindulging on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights

    any input is appreciated, thanks!

Hahaha I've been called upon I see. The route I take you will drive 395 south through Gardnerville to Leviathan Mine road. That road will be a nice hard packed road for a few miles, after you've passed all of the houses out there there will be a y in the road, the right side is the way you want to take, it's not marked and easy to miss and if you do miss it you will be on a road that's cut into the side hill but there are plenty of places to turn around. Once you take the right at the y the road gets fairly rocky but it's still not too bad. Stay on this road and it will take you all the way down to the Carson River. You'll want to stay left at the intersection down by the river. On that road you'll pass some old beat up buildings, there aren't many other roads off of this main one so if you follow it along the river for a few miles you'll end up coming to a fairly steep hill once you go down that you should see the river crossing and the springs on the other side. It's really easy to look it up on google maps and see the Leviathan Mine road and it will give you a better idea of what I'm trying to describe. Just a heads up though, if you're going on the weekend be prepared for some redneck kids from Gardnerville to show up and get rowdy.

Oh shit. I just realized I could have answered this. Are we talking about this old building:

That leads to this river crossing :anonymous:

I was just about to ask how deep the river was, but that basically answers it!

The depth depends on snowmelt and recent precip, I usually use my black lab as a depth finder at river crossings so if you have access to a water dog exploit their talents! Haha

Thought you weren't "allowed" to cross anymore? Or are these different springs?
