    -1 for quoting myself, but...
Would people be interested in doing this in a 3 day or 4 day? Either could be done, but I dont want to be leaving at dawn, arriving to destination at dusk. Myself, I would rather take 4 days and take our time. Then if we run into any troubles we can adjust and not run too short of time. Is it too early to make this it's own thread?

Make it a 7 day for all I care, the longer the better! And I don't think its too early for a thread. It'll just make sure we stay on top of planning.

Edit: And yeah, I'm a strong believer in having time to relax in the evening on a deal like this, so a long enough sked to actually enjoy the trip is certainly my idea of a good time.

What did you hate about it? Differences between the 2? Was just about ready to pull the trigger before I saw the group by, and your post.

The ultragauge has more features and a 'better' display, but the scangauge is superior IMO.

From my use, the buttons on the UG would only work when they wanted to; I'd sometimes have to push a button 5-10 times before it would register the first time, then from there it would move through the menu only ok at best. This was the case from day 1 with the UG, yet my SG2 has worked flawless and rarely requires even a second button push to register and I've had it in my last truck and current one being used for over 5 years now.

The extra settings/features of the UG came at a cost IMO... they make the UG feel very cluttered to me, and also very confusing to setup. Navigating the UG menus is clunky. The setup and use of the SG is much easier also.

The cord on the UG is permanently attached to the unit, unlike the SG where it is a removable/replaceable cord. That makes routing the cord to the mounting location much easier since you can route the thin ethernet style end of the SG cord rather than be stuck routing the big bulky OBD2 plug behind the dash or just cramming the cord into the edge of the dash to route it.

Another benefit of the removable cord, is that you can buy additional cords as spares to let you diagnose another vehicle, perhaps your buddies car or your spouses. Or you can plug the unit into your second vehicle etc. for use on trips if you'd like (just keep in mind if you use it in 2 vehicles, you'll need to calibrate and write down the setting for each vehicle and adjust the parameters each time you swap for things like speed/MPG/DTE to be accurate)

As far as what they gauges do... they both read the same things. One just does it more simply, while the other tries to feed you EVERYTHING in 'pages' of menus which was more than I needed. The SG2 only shows 4 'gauges' at a time, the UG will show anywhere from 2-8(can be adjusted in the settings) and then has anywhere from 1-6(iirc) pages of gauges that you can setup as well. I could have probably spent half a day adjusting and setting up the UG whereas the SG2 plugs in and works easily straight out of the box, with on the fly changes to which 4 gauges you view. No need to dig through settings menus and tons of pages to find the one you need.

I could probably go on more if you guys want, but those are some of the points that come to mind right now.

    SG2 it is then...

In my experience, Eric's judgement is enough to sway me towards any part of his choosing lol. Nerver has steered me wrong. Thanks man.
