It's got to be Monday for me. I could also go any day next week Mon-Thurs (1/13-16). I've already proposed a skiing trip to Wolf Creek for the 17-19th and I've got a buddy from Denver that's coming down for that, along w/a Wife that's completely psyched and a babysitter for la nina, so Sat/Sun are out...

Scott, if you can't make it we'll do it again once the LR is up and running.

Nate & Colin, I think to make it worthwhile we'll need to leave ABQ by 8am. That puts us at La Bajada by 9am, the Sinkhole by 11am and leaves the rest of the PM for one of the harder runs and/or general exploration. There are TONS of trails in that area, lots of scenery and alternate routes, etc. The rate of travel will be heavily influenced by the amount of snow/mud. It's been pretty dry for the last month, so I think we'll be in good shape except for the north facing slopes. I almost hit a tree coming down the ridge from the sinkhole last year in 12" of snow.

Another time it is then... Unless I get the LR up and going and feel comfertable it will perform well enough with a 17 month old in the back watching DVD's... She has already done a 15 hour Montecello canyon run.

Definitely. I look forward to making a run with you one of these days.

That is unlikely. My Wife would love it but the kiddo is pretty active, and at an age where they do NOT like to be confined for long periods of time. If she had to spend all day bouncing around in her car seat she'd be pretty pissed, I think. Plus getting her in/out of the car seat all day for breaks would be tedious.

I'm going to look into a babysitter for the day so maybe my Wife can come along.

La Bajada / Caja Del Rio / Diablo Canyon Sign up List:

Date: Monday Jan 20, 2014 - MLKJr Day

    Time: 9am

Meet-up location: I-25 @ Exit 264 (State Road 16), on the East side at the top of the exit ramp there is a small parking area where SR 16 hangs a right and heads south. The exit is located at the bottom of La Bajada Hill.

(I think this would be the best meetup location, esp. if Max is coming down from SF so he doesn't have to drive all the way south to ABQ)

Trailhead location: 35°33'6.18"N 106°14'11.32"W, near the pond at the bottom of the old La Bajada trail.

CB Channel: 6 to start the day.

Gotta make those dollars, right? No worries man, maybe next time around. I'm keeping my eyes out for TOTH this year, so maybe a few of us NNM guys can head south for that.

Heck yeah, Gian. I'll look forward to catching up with you.

Ohh yea... Nick, I did some more ballistic testing (that sounds so much better than "shooting at shit") and have a decent weight, plate setup with anti-Spaulding that stops everything I shot at it including 4X green tip 5.56 within a 3" circle... It also stopped .22lr, .17HMR, .380, 9mm, .40, .45, 7.62x39 and a 1oz hollow point rifled slug!

    Lets start selling them!

Well I might be able to make it, not 100% yet, until I know I can get my 295s mounted and be able to turn. LOL and then ask for the day off.

Hey, nice truck! Too bad you can't make it!

I have a question, is everybody going to be bringing a walkie, or do I need to bring my CB?

I think most of us have a cb, I'll try and find my walkies to bring just in case.

I'd say ABQ would be the better option. SF would mean a longer drive on Sunday night and then you'd have to double back for the run on Monday morning. Also, hotel prices will probably be more reasonable in ABQ.

Great news! I'll look forward to meeting you guys and doing some wheeling.

Like Max said, I think everyone has a CB in their rig. Does Nathan have one in the 4Runner? I don't remember seeing that in his build. I've got a pair of walkies that I can bring along as well.

Yeah I do need to change my sig, I was just waiting to get a good pic of my rig, but it keeps changing every week, so its always out dated. LOL * fixed now

Nathan doesn't have a CB, but I might be able to get him a portable hand held from a friend, if not I have my walkies and I can relay stuff as needed. Look forward to wheeling with you guys!

Yeah we found hotel already in bernalillo.
