They are the same style kind of fugly and so outdated at this point

My 06 had a dB lift and it wasn't that bad, and on the first gen I'm not sure, intent for the vehicle is nothing more then hauling, off road nothing major and that about sums it up

Thanks for the kind words about the style of my wheels. :p

If your looking at hauling and it is acting like a dog with the supercharger, you'd want to consider the cost of regearing. Also, that's a Generation 1 1st Gen S/C. Might want to do some research on them. I've read a few posts that point to some problems but can recall what.

It's hard to make long out of town trips happen when you've got a bun in the oven. Stay strong man, it's all worth it once you hold that little one.

Make sure you plan for a WHOLE day on the LCA bushings. I've done them twice and I can tell you that they don't go easily. What are you going to put in there for replacements? OEM? Poly?

That's basically a 34" tire, right? I'm kinda thinking that will be my next step. I just got done hacking on my fenders/liners/flares to clear up some persistent rubbing. I took enough off that I should be able to clear the next size up.

How's the noise on those Toyo MT's?

    Que pasa Alamo?

You don't say!? Tell us more.

Poly. I found a thread that walks through it. Basically, heat up the rubber then use a Vatozone ball joint press to press them out. Silas just burned his out. I've seriously considered getting new LCAs after reading some of the horror stories. Should I just order them?

I used the factory bottle jack to press mine out. It fits perfectly inside the "Y" of the arm. I put a couple large washers on the head of the jack for bushings 2 thorugh 4 because the head of the jack got stuck inside the melted rubber on the first bushing. You can get some washers at Lowes or H.D. that are just smaller than the ID of the bushing sleeve on the arm.

Heat the outside surface of the bushing sleeve with a propane torch. I found the easiest way to tell when the bushings were ready to come out was to listen for "sizzle". The rubber will start to curl over, away from the metal, and you will hear a loud audible sizzle. They need to get that hot before they release themselves from the metal easily.

After that, you get to enjoy the fun of cleaning the residual rubber out of the metal sleeve that remains in the arm. The new poly bushings have to get pressed into the that sleeve with only lube between them and the metal. If you press them in with all the leftover rubber, they'll squeak like crazy. I used a rotary wire brush in my drill to remove the leftover rubber. It was by far the quickest method I found and it still took awhile.

Ultimately, I cut the sleeves out and went with Whiteline poly bushings, which come with new sleeves... the whole assembly gets pressed into a naked arm, just like OEM. Getting the sleeves out is best done with a sawzall, just in case you have to go there.

Oh, and remember that before you get to enjoy all of that fun you have to get the arms out of the truck.

    Wheels off
    Sway bar links off
Lower shock mount bolt comes out
LBJ shaft gets separated from the LCA
Steering rack bolts get removed (must do to get the rear eccentrics out)
Disconnecting the OTRE's makes it much easier, but it's optional ("")
Then you've got to get the eccentric bolts out of there... if there isn't any rust, you're golden. If there is rust, get ready for a battle.

Hmmm. I'm at a point where I'm thinking I just order new LCAs. Really don't want to mess with this too much and keep my truck on the road as much as possible.

Gives me the time to muck around with getting the bushings changed out for a spare set too.

Yeah it is a 34". I'll measure it today and post it in my build. But the noise, you can hear a bit of a hum while driving but I have heard that they wear in well.
